FinWing 26 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Just imagine the reaction on this board should a goal like that be scored against the Wings...
juice71285 2 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) Most of the time I don't rag on the officials, because I know that they have a difficult job. Having said that, it seems pretty clear to me that the officials want to decide the Philly-Caps game. I wonder if either of them have something riding on it like that one NBA official? EDIT: typo Edited April 23, 2008 by juice71285
Ontario Wingsfan 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I fully expected the Caps to get the calls in this one (how could the league resist a Sid vs AO matchup) but Philly has come out on top so far. lol

This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 ha well everyone owning a bussiness here is really rooting for the flames to lose, because its completly dead everywhere when gametime. But its nuts, car flags are everywhere! If flames win tonight, im preparing for the next couple of weeks of hell! Haha, thats funny! This time of year me and my boss go at it cause he hates how the Wings kill business for us in the playoffs. Granted it used to be much much worse, when there's a Wings playoff game on, almost everyones in the bars. He always is rooting for the Wings to lose so our business will pick back up. He even tries to turn me against them, saying that less business for us is obviously less money for me... But I'd gladly take a pay cut every year and have the Wings advance deep into the playoffs. This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 YES!!!!! They needed that goal. Phillys shouldnt have counted. Thus, if Phillys didnt count this goal by AO probably wouldn't have happened (chaos theory, butterfly effect) so its good to see the score back tied again. lets go caps! (and fedorov too! good to see him back in the playoffs)

Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Terrible call on the goal, yes, but I'm not buying any conspiracy theories, for two reasons: 1. The league would love a Sidney v. AO series to market 2. Nobody likes Philly
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 wow, third period (or more) to decide the series. what a great game!!!
jdog19 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Hmmm. Game 7, 2-2 game going into the 4rd. Not a bad start to the night.
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I feel like the longer into the third this game stays tied the more likely it is the Caps pull it out. They've had the ability to come up with big, late goals in this series, and I feel another one or two coming. If Philly can't get a couple goals in the first half of the period I think they're in a lot of trouble. *crosses fingers*
jdog19 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Do the following statements discredit a hockey analyst? 1. In regards to AO...'It's unfair for people to judge a player based on his playoff performance'. 2. In regards to Huet - 'He's going to be looking for a big pay-day after this, something in the 7-8 range'. 3. In regards to celebrities in the crowd - namely - Clinton Portis and some unnamed Wizard players - 'This really makes the Caps a cinderella story'.
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 1. Yes, since they seem to be suggesting that 4 goals in 7 games is somehow inadequate. Although in theory, after the season he's had and considering it's his first playoff, it is unfair to judge AO on his playoff performance. 2. Yes. No qualification needed. 3. Absolutely not. The Lakers are a cinderella story every year for the same reasons.
