Guess I really don't care who wins this game, we have to take all comers anyway....but I hate Mike Keenan, so go Sharks. His foot went forward into the goal after it was scored, but it originally deflected off his upper shin/lower knee and was past the goal line before his foot even came forward. The follow-through looks like his foot went forward in a "kicking motion", but it wasn't what scored the goal. That "distinct kicking motion" clause always bothered me. It seems perfectly clear--you move your leg back then forward to purposefully kick the puck in the net--but it's been used to disallow goals when someone turns their skate to deflect the puck it, or when they are doing a hockey stop in front of the crease and the puck glances it, etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

People thought I was crazy when I wanted the Wings to sign him last summer, but he's really proven he still has something left in the tank (like I thought at the time). It's great to see him doing well. Doing well? Are you referring to the regular season, because so far in these playoffs before tonight's game he hadn't scored a single point, was a -2, and was a healthy scratch in Game 6.
