Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Unless Budaj has a crappy 3rd, I can't believe Theo would start game 3. Maybe he's still sick
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 For those worried about not being able to beat Budaj so far: Think about how many times this phenomenon occurs in the NHL. A goalie gets pulled, and the backup plays crazy good for the rest of that game. I don't know why it happens, but it does. If the Wings don't score again today, I still won't be too worried about having to face Budaj for a whole game. Good points, plus the Wings arent playing with 100% intensity either, Budaj will be done just like Theodore.
commadore183 103 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 The Aves are gonna come out firing in the 4rd, so the Wings need to weather the storm and get a few more pucks behind Budaj. LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!

seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 I just got home from my soccer game... refusing to shower until after this game is over. So I turn on the TV and am in complete shock. 4-0!? Holy s***? So are we playing well and have they been nice goals? Mule's 2nd and Hank's goal were both really nice. Mule's 1st was a typical PPG, and Flip's was a bad one for Theodore. cirov19 1 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 I don't feel like looking for it but at the beginning of this GDT somebody said that they felt Kronwall and Franzen were going to have good games today.. I looked at the scoresheet just now and it looks like they were right.

Doggy 130 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Pretty lazy second half of that period. Pretty much like game 1. Was hoping we could open up on Budaj with that parade to the box and crush his confidence too. Disappointing really.

I agree, if the Wing's keep playing the way they're playing I don't care if they put a brick wall in net we will find a way to score!!!

Behind Enemy Lines in CO 11 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 How many times have we seen this crap from Coach Q - remember the last game of the regular season a few years ago when Kocur threw the chair on the ice because Q sent his goons out. Living in Denver and having to watch the Dives alot I have seen this tactic too many times. Dives get in trouble and the goon squad comes out. As long as the Wings do not phone it in they will take this series because the Dives are quickly figuring out that the Wings are not the Wild!
aflac9262 211 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 I hope Babcock doesn't put Maltby in place of Helm when he's healthy enough to play.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Amazing how good someone can look when they're playing against the Wild. Yeah, Theodore puts on a show against a defensive team, plays against an offensive dynamo, and gives up 4 goals in half a game twice.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Unless Budaj has a crappy 3rd, I can't believe Theo would start game 3. I agree. Although I don't think Theo is their problem. Goalies don't have any influence on 10 SOG in 2/3 of a game. Maybe they just miss Forsgoober so much they can't concentrate. Wings better take advantage of whatever is wrong, though. seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Pierre's a douchebag. That was a brilliant play by Ruutu. And he'd stand up to Orr if he had to.

The back up has no pressure and nothing to lose, everything to gain. If he's half way decent (and Budaj is), he will take advantage and run with it. It's harder to be be big dog in net than it looks though, so maybe the Wings will solve him, too.
Opie 308 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Sammy needs to come out, seriously. He's too dumb to be an effective player. Yeah he looked really s***ty on that assist on the first goal. Way not to have blind hate for someone.
