Never_Retire_Steve 35 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 We look off tonight not good at all LOL The game is not over yet people. Hopefully Detroit realizes that too. We need to keep playing until the final horn. Let's go Red Wings! LOL Pavel looks very pleased. I think 7-1 would be a nice score. Sort of a tribute to the Avs... run up that score, boyz Hey, you got the spread right There is a cutie behind the Wing's bench with a beer , things ya notice when it's a blowout!! Good call, I think I noticed that the first time they showed the benches, doesn't matter to me if it's a blowout though. Man what a game......... nothing better than watching the Wings s*** kick the Avs to take the series.

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 I DVRed it, had no intention whatsoever of watching it tonight. Which is rare for me. But for now...damn, I gotta go to bed. I have to be up in 4 hours. I watched Lost and had the little PIP thing going in the corner for the game. It wasn't a hard decision b/c I knew deep down that we were going to light them up. No BS either...I think I even posted it somewhere earlier. So I just said, screw it, I'll watch Lost and do the PIP and catch the rest of the game after. Weird episode for the record... And good game. What else need be said? Bring on Dallas!
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 I must say that this was the best $40 I've spent in my life. What a game by the Wings! They were utterly dominant! Sadly for the Avs, lots of their fans headed for the exits after the second period. It was shameful. By the end of the game, there were as many red and white jerseys as brown and blue jerseys in the stands. Bring on Dallas! Go team! lol - I was debating as a hockey fan whether I was pissed I spent $$ on such a lop-sided game that was over after the first period - but hey an opportunity to be at such a series clinching ass-whipping was well worth it! I don't blame the fans for leaving - they showed up and cheered for their team, and the Avs just packed it in early - I actually went to the game w an Avs fan - had to buy her a few drinks! I lost track of who scored what by the third period "I think I saw Franzen score 2, 3, 4, goals but I cannot remember" lol - had to check the stats when I got home lol Avs fans: FIRE QUENNVILLE: 0-8 vs the Wings in one season = you suck with a big fat exclamation point! Wingsor 2 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 I was about to type the exact same words at the same time. WHAT A GAME! That Zetts goal reminds me of some of Yzermans incredible on your back, falling down impossible goals. God i love this team...so many awesome players.... LETS GO RED WINGS! wow just wow! :rotflmao:
Vladiator 116 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 Wow this season is becoming so reminiscent of the 2002 cup run. Lidstrom scores on a goalie the Wings were having a hard time to crack in the first series from the red line and then the Wings beat up the Avs in the last game of the series to move on. Wow, was at the bar with my buddy who is an Avs fan watching this game and I had to buy him a few extra drinks to dull his pain.

EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 Ok, so I had to miss this game for stupid softball - the only game I've missed all season! So I didn't get to see who all scored...Z, Homer, Sammy x 2, Franz x 3 and who else?? Talk about Swede domination!
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 What happened to Chelly tonight was he just a healthy scratch? Also, anyone else notice Lilja's giveaway in the third that lead to an Avalanche PP. How many of you said to yourself, "f***in Lilja"...or something along those lines!? Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 2, 2008 Lilja played a hideous game. He fumbled the puck several times, took a retarded penalty (after having fumbled the puck), and in general just sucked. It's a good thing that this game wasn't close.
MileHighWingsGuy 178 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 I just got back from the Pepsi center and the game four sweep. We had a very very strong Wings presence at both games. Tonight I was almost embarassed for the Avs as most of the Wings got tired of standing up cheering for all the goals. We had some good Wings chants, some Ozzie chants and 4 Octopi on the ice tonight. Most of the Avs fans were in amazement with the speed of our team and the puck possession we had. We all had a celebration in their house tonight and I'm hoping you guys keep the energy going when Dallas comes to town.

I could hear a few through the TV and it was pretty obvious when the goals got higher because you could hear less and less Avs and more and more Wings fans Must have been fun!
