Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted May 13, 2008 I could swear the Versus guys said Detroit would not announce anything about this until after the game tonight. So.... we should hear soon. Is there a press conference going on now - post game?

katiephd 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 Just watched Babcock's post-game on nhl.tv, and still no word. I'm not sure what to make of this delay in relaying information.
Blaayze 25 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 hmmmm something fishy seems to be going on... im not sure i like it.. ditto. In my opinion, if its something small, you tell people to get it out of the way. I just hope they arn't trying to figure out how to tell us the bad news. *knock on wood*
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 on the wings site it has babcocks post game news conference hes asked at the end about franzen and he said something along the lines of he hasnt recieved an update yet, they dont talk about players that arnt playing on game day or something and he'll know whats going on when they get back to detroit...but how he answered it u could tell he was trying to make stuff up as he went along. a reporter asked hank about the depth without franzen and hes like "its a big loss but"...so the team probably knows whats going on but they dont wanna tell the media. Yzermania 156 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 not to look at things pessimisticly or anything but has babs always worn the yellow "livestrong" type bracelet? I've only noticed it the last couple of games.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 But if they know what's going on, why wouldn't they say? If he can't play, he can't play. Why be secretive about it at this point?
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 not to look at things pessimisticly or anything but has babs always worn the yellow "livestrong" type bracelet? I've only noticed it the last couple of games. Yes, he's worn it at least all this season. I've noticed it several times.

I've only noticed it the last couple of games. I've never seen it before, btu to be fair, I've never really looked. Anyone else have a feeling Franzen's entire career might be over? Maybe I'm just too pessimistic, but this whole thing has been a weird chain of events.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 I wouldn't think they would announce it tonight. Expect an 11 am or 3 pm press conference tomorrow.

I thought the same thing while I was watching the post-games. Although, Babcock didn't say he'd know what's going when they get back to Detroit; I'm assuming he was referring to getting back to the hotel or wherever. Still, I realize Franzen's not playing, but I doubt that means they aren't being updated on what's going on with him while in Dallas. I mean, I realize it's a bit of a hillbilly place, but I'd imagine they still have nifty contraptions like phones and computers. I'm trying not to let the fatalist in me come out, but the whole thing feels very strange.

LidstromIsASuperhero 29 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 Something just occurred to me. Perhaps they aren't trying to be so secretive about it, and it really isn't that big a deal. No media outlet has reported anything about a blood clot or anything this major. I personally am wondering if we are just freaking ourselves out on this one. If it turns out being something minor and stupid, I say we lynch the guy who posted this on the RWC boards.
