Stanley Cup Tickets

Probably very good if you want to spend the $$.

Typically, presales only have a small amount of tickets anyway. When they go on sale to the general public, there ought to be more "cheap seats" available.

Still, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the prices! I really wanted to go to a game or 2, but I just don't know if I can afford it...

Just wanted to get some opinions on tickets. I wanted to get lower bowl tickets for games 5 and 7 but the presale only has upper seats still available. In my experience with presales they have set seats on sale and you sometimes can get better seats when they go on sale to the general public. I know its a tough call, but what do you think the chances are of getting lower bowl seats when they go on sale to the public?

Thanks

Yikes. Yeah, Im serious. Im a season ticket holder so my tickets are all in hand already. My ticket (upperdeck, row a, offensive goal side) $100.

Like rdwngnut said though, we'd have to compare physically what each seat is like. 1st row of the Upper Bowl in JLA is still fairly close to the ice. Does Dallas have a lower, mid and upper deck? JLA only has a lower and an upper.

I am 19 rows up in the upper bowl....Mine are 44 normal season. For playoffs they were $54, $60, $90, and $170 each. Your are cheaper but hard to tell where your seats compare to mine.

Stars Site Scroll to the right to where it says find your seat and type in section 318 row A. Thats where my seat is.

On my end(the other side is a little different) there is the lower bowl and then two sets of suites on top of eachother and then my seat.

OK, I would estimate that your seats would be comparable to maybe 10 or so rows up in the JLA upper bowl. Those would still be $210 though! I should say that the cheapest seats are $97, I believe, and that's literally the very last row in the arena, up in the corners where you can't even see the scoreboard because there is an overhang.

Oof. Might be a silly question, but why dont the Red Wings and Pistons play in the same arena? Or do they?

Each owner has a stake in their own arena. The Pistons play at The Palace of Auburn Hills in the suburbs, and Piston management runs and books things there. Same with the Wings. Wings owner Mike Illitch's Olympia Entertainment runs and books things at JLA.

Thanks for the advice on the tickets. You guys have confirmed my inclination to wait it out and hope for lower bowl tickets when the rest of the tickets go on sale, which i'm assuming is Friday since the presale ends Thursday night. Now I just have to work on getting a ticket for game 6 in Pittsburgh!

Game 6 is in the other arena but yes they refund your money. Not sure how fast but you get it back.

Last year I think it took about 2 - 3 weeks for them to refund my credit card. I had Stanley Cup tickets to game 5. So, ticketmaster makes money even if the games are never played.

Take me with you G6! I can swing by London and we'll go from there. Hubby won't mind a bit! ^_^

Seriously - have a great time if you make it to Pitts (or Philly to be fair) - and cheer loudly for all the Red and White back home!

And all the arena fees and service charges are not refunded...I remember wondering when my refund from last year would show up too!

So if we take out the series and all that...will it be Friday morning that it's released to the general public? Does anyone know that for sure? Just curious because I really want tickets.

Are you serious??!?! That's robbery! :ranting: Damn Ticketbastard! I have to admit that I have held off buying any if necessary games for the refund reason, and knowing that they'll still keep some of it has strengthened that resolve.

The presale code was released to Pens fans so a few of them have been buying up tickets. They think it's funny, I think it's cool. We never have very many opposing team's fans in the Joe unless it's Toronto. Maybe then they'll realize the Joe isn't the morgue the media makes it out to be.

I've been to one game out of each series thus far. Hoping to scrape together enough cash to get to the finals if we make it.

Got two tickets to game 5 upper deck fifth row corner at $210 a seat. These good seats?

I never realized they release another block once public tickets go on sale. Would I have gotten better seats if I waited?

Also, are you guys saying the seats are more expensive once they go to public?

Right now they're

$95 for last couple rows in upper deck

$140 standing room

$170 20 rows back in upper

$210 1-19 rows back in upper

$350 & $395 in lower

wings fans have it pretty easy compared to leafs fans...during the regular season the best seats in the house are like $250... and then there's the problem that you can't even get them! To get a good ticket for the SC finals from a scalper would probably cost you a grand...luckily leafs fan will not be running into this problem any time soon.

Ok, so after buying tickets for cup final I feel ripped off compared to what Pens fans have to pay. Maybe I should sell mine and go there and cheer for the wings instead.

Look on the bottom of the page here

http://penguins.nhl.com/tickets/2008_playoffs.htm

What the hell??? Why such a difference. Detroit and Pittsburgh is 4 hours either way for me to drive.

ps. I realize they will be slightly more for general public as stated on page, but the current prices for those who bought yesterday using Detroit season ticket holders password are still alot higher.

im a Pens season ticket holder, and realize our prices are very good comparatively.

but anyone buying individual game tickets will be paying about $50 more (at least) per ticket than what you see on that site. they give a very nice discount to STH's both regular season and in the playoffs.

the big difference is...only 2,000 tickets per game are sold to the general public. and you literally have to get on ticketmaster, click as fast as you can and hope a pair shows up for you. they have sold out within minutes for each game.

if you arent one of the few lucky enough to get through, prices on ebay are sky high (much higher than for Detroit).

Hey Jansen, tks for the info and welcome to the site. That said, even with the +$50 per seat there still alot more. I paid $210 for upper deck. So of the remaining 17,000 tickets, season ticket holders grab them all?
