How does standing room work @ the Joe?

Ok... so I managed to grab a couple of standing room tickets for game 2 (holy crap, I feel like I won the lotto, considering we're displaced Detroiters in Pittsburgh! Go Wings, baby!!!). Our tickets are Row 6 seats 9 and 10. So my question is this: how does this stuff work??? Does this mean we're 6 rows back in standing room? (Not that I'd care one bit... PARTY IN THE STANDING ROOM!) ...or does this mean that it's behind section 6 or something?

They added riser seats against some of the standing room only spots, you must have one of those seats..............they are great seats man you are gonna love it!

Standing room is the place to be! It's closer to the ice than all of the upper level seats! I'll be there tomorrow night too!

Just ask an usher regarding whether your tickets are in the new folding seats they added. My standing tickets also had "row" and seat numbers , but they were only for standing. I went last night (it was A M A Z I N G!) and we got our spots in SRO a little early. A guy will come and check your tickets, and give you wristbands as people tend to try and stand there during the game. You can stand behind both goals. It is marked on the wall where "standing" is, and on the floor is a red painted line to stand behind. We had a lot of room where I was standing, but looking around other places were really cramped. Anyways, you can see the game really well.

I went a few hours early, grabbed a bite to eat at Cobo Joe's and i've never seen the atmosphere like that around the Joe. I could not believe the amount of Pens fans, and actually they were all pretty cool. I'd yell "Go WING!" every time I walked by a Pens fan, and they would laugh and yell "Go Pens!" I even stood next to three pens fans in SRO, and although I was annoyed at their insanely yelling Go Pens at first, we all settled down and actually had a good time together. Their chants got REAL quiet after the first period. Of course they admitted they were pretty apprehensive after seeing the Wings play. Anyways there was a pre-game Barbeque behind the Joe right on the river. They had a band, a beer tent, etc. It was PACKED everywhere with people. I'll never forget it. My point is, go early! I hope you have an amazing time at the game! GO WINGS! I am just getting my voice back, by the way.

Does your ticket determine exactly where you are standing. For example, for row 6 is there a wall stating row 6? Or is it just wherever you wanna stand you can stand lol. I'm just curious which sections SRO is in front of.

SRO is inbetween the upper and lower bowl, pretty much around the whole arena. There are NO sections so you stand anywhere you want as long as it's designated SRO! I always switch sides so I am always near the blueline of the opposing goaltender. However, I'm not sure this would work during the SCF because people may not leave their spots as much?
