SCF Game 3 GDT: Penguins 3, Red Wings 2

PITs best players:

The really soft s***ty ice. (mo wonder PITs so hard to beat at home)

All the sticks they slashed with and broke. I counted 7 alone in the third.

the iron.

Finally the bandwagon fans.

I will say it. I have no respect for that team. Even NBC mentioned the lack of respect that PIT showed to my mine. pitchforking Homer, telling Mablty he washed up and should retire. Non sense. We got used to the crappy ice conditions late in the third. We're ready and pissed. Detroit in 5.

Every chance the Wings had Datsyuk was on the ice. Whats the point of having the best play maker in the league if his linemates are going to have hands of stone? Im looking at you Holmstrom.. and the ghost of Zetterberg.

Awesome game of hockey. The fans got their money's worth. This loss was expected. Detroit will win game 4.

When we're holding the Cup after game 5 I'll be happy that Crosby scored those two goals. A great team leader for sure.

If we fix our power play, we'll win the next game easily

Add that to my list to-do list.

The refs handed the Wings a comeback on a silver platter with that late PP. It absolutely needs to be better if the Wings want to get a split in Pittsburgh.

Honestly, this was our best loss of these playoffs - if that makes sense. We were there the whole time, we still dominated the majority of the game and overall the Wings played a really good road game. If it were not for the Stuart turnover in the first, and a funny bounce off Ozzie, this game would have been much different - but those are things the Wings won't do every game and the Pens had to get some bounces at some point. Franzen has his game back too. I truly feel the Wings will get the split here and have the chance to win in 5.

Oh, and I just wanted to comment on the play of Malkin and Hossa - Yeah, they showed up tonight, but please note - it was AFTER the Pens took the lead. Those guys seems to loose confidence as soon as they go down by one, they only seem like 'themselves' if they are winning. Just goes to show how important the first goal is.

I am glad there are two days off - it allows whatever momentum the Pens got to cool off and our guys get a rest.

Turnovers were ridiculous. Wings need to be smarter with the puck.

But every single series this year we have a game like this.

I'm not too concerned. We came on strong, and with a fresh start we can beat them again. And then win at home.

I'm disappointed, and it sucks that I'll miss most of the next game at work, but I hope we win.

Still think this broadcast was the most disgusting display of narrow mindedness EVER, but whatever, right?

Have you ever seen passing that bad from us? That wasn't our team. It was there ice.

Well, after my source telling me they meant to blow Game 4 in Dallas, I see no different here. I just cant believe with the way that they played in the first 15 minutes and then all through the third that we couldnt put this game away. We dominated 35 minutes of this game and came away with a loss after the Wings were skating with cement in their boots and were making stupid passes on purpose. It was a different team in the third. They couldve put this thing away if they wanted to. Looks like winning it all on home ice is what they wanted. I expect them to play a perfect game 4.

Surely you don't blow games deliberately in the Stanley Cup Finals...

I thought this was a pretty good game over all. We played good but not Red Wing good. And the pens played much better, this is what I expected out of them.

Disappointed we lost of course, but I'm not concerned. We win the next one then bring it home to the Joe to finish them off and raise the cup.

GO WINGS!!!

and, STOP SUCKING CROSBY'S DICK every hockey "expert" on t.v.

except the penguins will be all over trying to pad crosbitch's stats, he already has like 4 secondary assists on empty netters this playoffs

So who cares about giving Crosby assists above giving our team chance to win. Pulling the goalie with 30 is dumb. Almost, no time to operate and at that point you might as well gift wrap the game.

Haven't read through the entire thread yet, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned goaltending.

Oz was mediocre, at best, in this Game. He should have had the first goal, gave up a TERRIBLE rebound on the second goal, and should never have put himself in the position for the third goal to go in off his arse.

Hopefully he'll came back LIGHTS OUT for Games 4 and 5.

It's okay. They lost so we can win at home in 5. We WILL win Game 4.

That's the spirit!

Wow, McGuire can't even shut up about Crosby when he's interviewing other players.

The really s***ty part of this loss? I ain't gonna be able to listen to XM Home Ice until after the next game because it's gonna be all Crosby, Crosby, Crosby.

So when the Pens lose, media's going : Crosby, what cost them the game,Crosby.

And when we lose, instead of hearing "What went wrong for the Red Wings",we'll get Crosby x 3?

Thank God I live here,so I only have to hear Ruutu,Ruutu,Ruutu...

Yes they were bad, but the whole team looked like s*** for 2.5 periods.

That should end the Referee bulls*** though.

Yeah, for the most part the refs called a pretty good game. On all of the replays you could see the penalties. Except for that call when Franzen scored. That was a pretty lame call on the pens for the crosscheck to Holmstrom, but i'll take it!

The Pens didn't win this game. We lost it. We will be back for the next game.

at least we didn't get shut out; we play better in their building than they play in ours

This is true.

A split is the most I expected in Pittsburgh. The Wings losses have come in pairs this postseason though, hopefully they break that trend.

No worries here, it would have been nice to sweep, but that's expecting to much. You'd have to figure the Pens would get a couple bounces going their way. Credit to Pittsburgh and Crosby for getting back into the series, but we bounced back against Dallas, and we'll bounce back against Pittsburgh.

This gives us a chance to win the Cup on home ice.

No, it was definitely the Wings. Their heads just weren't in it tonight. I don't know where their heads were, but they weren't out there on the ice. They made enough stupid mistakes (read: turnovers) to fill a book.

Babs needs to pull out info on the 71 Blackhawks.

The only team EVER to blow a 2-0 lead in the finals.

Honestly, if we show up and play hockey tonght, we hear crying all over again.

Cmon wings lets do this.

Big props for the Pens, they stepped up in a big way.

The Wings however, adapted badly, got caught by surprise when there souldn't really be any. Not all happy by their effort tonight.

Z & D tried but got kept outside the perimeter, they got shut down pretty well. Homer had a post and fought well. 3:rd and 4:th line came nowhere. 2:nd line did well, Franzen is so strong. On defence neither Rafalski, Lilja or Stuart looked in synch.

There's definitely some things to think about 'till saturday.
