The Secret 304 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Do tell, what are those stats or examples or facts or eye witness accounts do you have of how he doesn't fit in, anything more specific than "There are stats that are not kept and are valid to the out comes of the game"? Get on the ice man, and see for yourself. Learn about the game within the game... go see a game a watch the whole ice surface not just what tv show's you... you be pleasantly surprised that there is alot more going on then what you witness from your couch at home and plenty the nhl.com stats page won't show you! Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) I didn't read the entire thread /sorry. But I hope babs wasn't hard on these guys. They're probably the two most professional and competative forwards in the game. They don't need wanking on like little boy Crosby and his crew. The Euro twins are the real deal in the game. Then again, Babs is the best coach in the game, so he knows how to handle the situation and what needs to be done and how it needs to be done. I'd rather Babs take his frusteration out on our weak areas rather than cry bloody murder to the media. **cough** Therrien **cough** Edited May 29, 2008 by MrSandMan

When you can no longer defend your point turn to insults that usually works really well. Thanks for your insight now I see the game so much clearer now!!!! therock48880 14 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 So Sammy scores a nice goal last night, did nothing to hurt the team, yet you find a way to throw a dig out there. Can I ask why? Or is digging on Sammy the new black? I can give you two reasons he may have written that: 1. It's his opinion 2. It was funny Back to the topic, which seems to get highjacked quite frequently be certain posters, I agree with someone (Heaton, I think) that called it a passive-aggressive calling out. Babcock pointed the finger at himself while saying the two didn't play with as much energy as normal. Nice job with mind games if, indeed, his goal was to send a small message to the Eurotwins. TheWestWing 71 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 "There are stats that are not kept and are valid to the out comes of the game"? Think the league officially stopped keeping track of each teams zone ice time - offensive, neutral, defensive. Would like to get that back. Oh and BTW Sammy and Rafalski are Lazy and They Suck (little TM thingy needed subscripted).
Turretin 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I had a couple thoughts about last nights game that this thread hit on: 1. Babcock played them too much. I kept thinking "geez, this isn't game 7." I am glad to hear that he pointed the finger at himself a bit. Those guys are not supermen. Remember, they have gotten us this far. For anyone who is a workaholic, you know what I am talking about. True exhaustion is not something you can "power through." 2. Zetterberg was trying to do to much by himself. I know he actually has points on the board in this series, but I was impressed with how Dats played with his teammates. He got everyone involved. It seemed like Zetts was forcing it a bit. 3. Everyone who has watched playoff hockey was expecting a loss last night. It is natural. Pens were playing for their lives. Wings relaxed and thought they could win this game with 1 good period. Next game is a toss up and it should be the best game yet! 4. Lidstrom is a stud. There were countless times when I'd get worried about a Pen forward streaking in and then notice Lids was there and think "Phew, he won't score." Sure enough, Lids got it done. Thanks all. Lilja 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I dont understand the PP1 at all. Almost every time they come into offensive zone with the puck they take a shot at the goalie and pretty much give the puck away. They shouldnt need to do that with the puckskills that are on that PP1. I prefer when they control it a bit more to set it all up for a minute. They were stressed yesterday. The team didnt wake up until the second and by the third they had the normal Detroit game going that we are used to. It got close.
