Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 1, 2008 6.5 million over six years. EDIT--Perhaps this takes them out of Sundin and Hossa, Jagr too. That figure is inaccurate. Redden would not sign for $1m/year.

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 That figure is inaccurate. Redden would not sign for $1m/year. Could you really not figure it out? I dont see how this takes them out of the running for Hossa, Sundin, or Jagr. I'm pretty sure they have a ton of cap space (and a lot of holes to fill). YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 They are much improved with him. MUCH improved. For how much Redden has gone down hill for the past 2 years, it doesnt improve them that much.

Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted July 1, 2008 i bet stuart is kicking himself in his ass for signing his deal.. knowing he could of cashed in big time..
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted July 1, 2008 I mean, it wasn't bad for what the Rangers need. But if it were the Wings, Holland would need to walk to the guillotine. Wings couldn't justify paying a guy who's play has been (and will continue to be) deteriorating. Especially for that term. 6 years is just.. wow.

Reilly 24 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Boy, I remember after the lockout, I thought the Rangers finally "got it" when it comes to free agency and were focused on building a team with good drafting and filling in holes. Now they're just spending every summer.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 TSN originally posted it as six years for $6.5m, total; this is what "$6.5m over six years" means. Its called inference. No one in their right mind is going to actually assume Redden would sign for a little less than 1.1 per. Unless they're an idiot.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 i bet stuart is kicking himself in his ass for signing his deal.. knowing he could of cashed in big time.. He knew very well he was giving up money to sign with the Wings. They've even told him he'd have to take a paycut to come here. Everyone saw the overpayments coming. It was no surprise. Apparently hes much happier about winning than money.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Damn! I was hoping the Wings would get both him and Bouwmeester for $1 million each. Nice going, Kenny. Looks like you screwed another one up.
