Yes, totally idiotic as a couple of readers pointed out in response. Hossa had no long-term deal with Pittsburgh and fulfilled his obligation to them. He played quite admirably for them while wearing their uniform.

Pronger signed a long-term deal and wanted to bail out after a year in Edmonton, showing that he is as classless off the ice as he is on it.

I can understand Pittsburgh fan being frustrated and wanting to say bad things about Hossa, but for someone in Edmonton to do the same does not make sense. Maybe it's a slow blog day or he hasn't been getting any and wants to take it out on the rest of us.

This parallel would cease to be had Hoss gone to any team other than the one that womped his former organization out of the finals, and this blogger is just butthurt he didn't take Edmonton's 9 million offer. Pen fans have no right to complain however, he was a rental player and they only offered him 7 million a year.

I think Pitt fans will boo Hossa, they are in the mid-range of classiness. But we are not far above them, as we boo players for leaving. But we don't boo Bertuzzi or Schneider (for leaving) since we know that they were here for a reason and it wasn't to stay long-term. No, we boo great players that were key to our successes. We are still near the top of the classy pole though, seeing as we do not boo Santa Claus or heckle our players when they are losing... anymore.

It's an Edmonton newspaper, so there is no credability to this latest wanna-be reporter.

The Oilers were another team that was forgotten in all of this Hossa nonsense. Edmonton wanted Hossa too. They wanted him as the franchise player. But Hossa called them out saying that they are not a Championship contender.

So we have ourselves another so-called "journalist" who thinks that Hossa wanting to win is less important to a player cashing in a huge contract.

The reason why everyone hates Hossa is because he basically put his money where his mouth is. Hossa signed a contract with Detroit that says "I am so convinced that Detroit is far and above the best team that I am willing to forgo tens of millions of dollars to be a member of that team."
