YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) I'm sure Ryan Miller was going to come out to the press immediately after signing a long-term deal with Buffalo and say: "Well what I really wanted was to play for Detroit, but I realized they don't need me and weren't interested, so I decided to sign with Buffalo. The Sabres were really my second choice. And I hope all the Buffalo fans keep that in mind for the next 5 years. Whenever they see my greasy black hair I want them to remember how much I really just want to be in Detroit and play for the Wings. I'm so jealous of Marian..." Jericho613 74 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 In 5 yrs we will see what happens, I like Miller, but all the talk of signing him was just stupid, especially with Howard waiting for a chance, and not to mention Zetterberg and Franzen still need to be signed, next year. octopusonice 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Ryan Miller wasnt looking to be a Wing. That's about as surprising as Ellen DeGeneres revealing she's a lesbian 10 years ago.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 "I had another year on my contract and I was excited to play with my teammates and my friends and do it for all the right reasons ... to win hockey games. That was always the focus." Then it's a good thing you joined the Wi--oh, wait....
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Seriously, saying you don't want to/never wanted to go to the Wings is the new bitching out Dylan for going electric.

Outsider 42 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Except for back when he was a Spartan saying his dream was to play for the Detroit Red Wings... That's akin to stating that your favorite TV show is "He Man and the Masters of the Universe", just because it happened to be your favorite as a little kid. That day for Miller was long ago and far away. He's a Sabre now. They drafted him, they developed him, he's been playing in their system for years, now. Miller stated from day ONE that he had no interest in leaving Buffalo, not even to play for the Wings. He himself stated that he was "confused" how anyone could come to that conclusion. As with many things, (and people), here - some refused to accept the truth when it was staring them in the face, preferring to call people "idiots", instead. <shrug>
