I personally can't stand any of the guys on Versus, they honestly took away some of the pleasure of watching the playoffs for me when I had no other option but to listen to those ****** bags. The reason I like them is becaue they're informative and know what they're talking about. They are nowhere near as baised as others too. Chunkylover 26 Report post Posted August 3, 2008 I've never been a fan of the "fat guy voice" announcers like Jeanneret, Rosen, or ol' boy in Nashville. The Nashville guys sound like they like each other and are having fun at the game but their banter is inane. Denis Potvin and Craig Laughlin have the most annoying, high-pitched voices. During this year's playoffs, as bad a homer as Eddie O was for Pittsburgh, the absolute worst tandem was John Forslund and Andy Brickley. Brick is usually good for the Bruins games (side note: both Boston announcers were very fair during the Habs/Bruins series) but both of them sounded incredibly disinterested in the Colorado series. I always like hearing Dave Strader call Wings games and my favorite was a game he called with the "O" in which Edzo kept calling him "Spades" until deep into the game when you could actually tell that his mistake was pointed out to him and he started saying "Strades". Genius. I think the Pacific teams have pretty good duos as well, although the Ducks guys are kind of stuffy about their team and the Sharks color guy looks like James Carville. They dont know what the hell is going on there too busy sucking on rick nash and nikolai zherdevs dicks and jodi shellys, luckily two of them are gone. The Lightning could be down 5-0 in a preseason game and score in the final minute to make it 5-1 and the way he reacts you would think they just won the cup. And his voice would crack because he screamed so loud. Example: Also the Caps guy who also does the VS broadcasts. He's ok until he says score. I just can't stand it. I hate watching VS when he's doing the game. And the sad thing is he's their #2 guy behind Doc, so you get him alot. I like Doc but he does repeat a lot of the same words, but he really get's into it and he knows his hockey facts. I agree with the cast on VS and NBC though. The guys he has working with him are awful. And someone said Clement, I don't mind him as an analyst even though he can get annoying then too, but as a host he was terrible for NBC/VS. Thank god they dumped him. Mickey and Ken are great though. But I have to say Mickey is starting to slip, or he's drinking a lot before the games, because he has been getthing more and more things wrong recently. If they are not busy kissing ass to every Toronto Maple Leaf on the ice, Bob Cole is busy calling people by the wrong names (Mats Naslund instead of Marcus, for example), or just simply saying the wrong player has the puck. The guy is way too old to still be working in the booth. Jim Hughson is the same way, only he is in love with the Canucks. Although I must admit I love it when he says, "GREAT SAVE LUONGO!" As for the good ones, honestly there are not many left out there. I like Doc E when he says "A Drive!", but other then that nothing really stands out to me.
