Ryan Hollweg suspended two games and another three games

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Hollweg has been suspended for the first two games of the regular season.

The suspension is tied to a hit from behind during a game last week and for two similar incidents last season when he was a member of the New York Rangers.

Hollweg hit St. Louis Blues defenceman Jay McKee from behind with 1:38 remaining in the third period of Toronto's 7-3 loss to the Blues in St. Louis last Wednesday. He was also involved in two fights and racked up 39 minutes in penalties in the game.

Nope, six fights, six losses.

About the only benefit he brings to the team is his Chris Farley impression.

well hockeyfights gives him 5 losses and 1 draw haha hockeyfights Ryan Hollweg and all it cost the leafs was a 5th round pick.

so since arriving in toronto to "rebuild through the draft" fletcher has traded 8 draft picks and tried to trade their first round pick of 09. oh and just today the leafs decide to keep luke schenn so he can help the team make 10th in the east.

sorry for the rant but the leafs are making me furious right now.

They're keeping Luke Schenn likely for 9 games while Kubina & Finger are out with injuries. I think if they were trying to get 8th or 9th place in the East, they wouldn't be playing an 18-year old on the first pairing with Tomas Kaberle.

Cliff will be adding more draft picks at the deadline when he peddles guys like Antropov, Kaberle and Ponikarovsky at the trade deadline.

Your team should have never let Aki Berg leave.

That was your death knell.

I have no doubt that Fletcher was well aware that Hollweg couldn't fight when he traded for him. Instead, Hollweg was brought in to be an agitator, which is something I feel he has done fairly well thus far.

With the Leafs up 3-1 he hit Pietrangelo from behind and got tossed. Then the Blues scored twice on the 5 minute PP.

this sonofabitch needs a wake up call in life. like a "you will never play american hockey again" type wake up call. buh-bye.

i am watching the game now and not only did the hit put another players health at risk (as he has done many a time before), it cost his team the lead. I would love for the leafs to cut him and no other team give him an ice cubes chance in hell of making a roster.

heres to the blues winning this one...

Ryan Hollweg Back At It

Hollweg returns from suspension and promplty hits Alex Pietrangelo of the Blues from behind, 5 minute major and a game. I do believe an automatic suspension comes with it, possibly three games

i cant stand this guy! i was watching the game and he is an embarrasment to the leafs and the hockey players in general. he is automatically suspended for the hit and the league has the option for supplementary discipline so i hope they throw the book at him. pietrangelo is one of the leagues most promising young defensemen and that idiot hollweg must have had intent because he has done this 4 times in 42 games.

KICK HIM OUT OF THE LEAGUE. the nhl needs to crack down on these guys because they bring nothing to the game and one of these days theyre going to kill someone. as a leafs fan i am disgusted that hollweg was signed and i hope to god they send him packing. not that i defend simon's actions but if you watch the tape hollweg hit him from behind to earn that stick in the face.

Hollweg is a ******, but on the latest hit, the Blues player looks up and sees Hollweg coming then turns his back to him. WTF? Weak IMO. Turning your back to a player when you KNOW he's coming in to finish a check is BS.

esteef

It was Pietrangelo. Rookie mistake.
