However, the house is now in foreclosure (happened sometime in between their counter and our counter), which changed the buying situation. We're still crossing our fingers though. Go Lilja! Clear that crease! If the house went into foreclosure you should get it for even cheaper then. I would assume your offer gets voided because the owner no longer has the rights to the house, meaning you should be ok to offer even less and hopefully still get it. And my wife just told me that apparently, somehow, they can actually still counter our counter (we countered after it went into foreclosure) and it's not the bank that's countering, but the owner still.
