Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 23, 2008 Hedican is a still a good player, and a good pickup for Anaheim. Too bad, a guy I like going to teh Ducks. But I dont know how in the world they can afford this.
Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted October 23, 2008 Do you earn some cash or something for leaving out the last name in the title? Had I seen the title "Ducks sign Brett Hedican", I wouldn't have had to open this thread.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted October 23, 2008 I think when Burke sees a player on the market that's 6'2" 210+ lbs, he just can't help himself. It's like an impulse purchase.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 23, 2008 It's great to see George Brett trying another sport. I think he'll do fine, especially since he's from California as I remember.
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 23, 2008 (edited) It's great to see George Brett trying another sport. I think he'll do fine, especially since he's from California as I remember. He's not, but his wife is Kristi Yamaguchi is from San Jose. Anyways, I think Nathan McIver will be waived to make room. Brad Larsen is on LTIR, so they may have room to add Hedican right away without waiving anybody. Edited October 23, 2008 by MacK_Attack
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 23, 2008 Wow. Talk about the key to their problems right there. In one fell swoop Burke replaces Schneiders presence - if not an upgrade.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Klee going on waivers (potentially) frees up $1.25M. However, since they're still on the hook for his salary at the moment (correct?), Ducks had to have signed Hedican for less than $626,667.
