frederick9125 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Yes Detroit would be the easy and probably best answer. Franzen, huds, filp, kron, kopecky, zetts, dats, homer, oz, knuble, kolov, lids, feds.. not to count guys in minors ready to step up... Islanders for one would have chara and redden on D with Luongo in net They'd have bert, mccabe wouldn't have a bad 1st line maybe. dallas- goalie- bacashihua, mike smith, dan ellis, turco and morrow, lehtinen, hatcher, modano, Iginla pens- jordan staal, crosby, malkin, letang, fleury, ryan whitney, christensen, talbot, armstrong, orpik, ouellet, malone, naslund ott- would be good also

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 (edited) Colorado, Dallas, and New Jersey all have pretty solid draft lists aside from Detroit. Shocking, I know. The best managed teams drafted the best players. What a stunner. Anaheim also has a pretty solid group; Philly would have some decent forwards but Joni Pitkanen would be their top defender and Brian Boucher their starting goaltender. Pens would of course have some good players via several top 5 picks recently. So the balance of power probably wouldn't look too terribly different on a yearly basis as it has; the teams that have done well have done so due to good management and drafting and how they have used those assets. The teams that haven't, obviously have not managed their teams well in any aspect. EDIT: The Islanders would have G: Luongo, Dipietro D: Mezei, Brewer, Chara, Redden, Tarnstrom, McCabe F: Connolly, Pyatt, Torres, Dumont, Hlavac, Bertuzzi, Weinhandl Plus other forwards who currently are prospects that have yet to establish themselves. Weak up front...but more than made up for on the back end. Edited October 24, 2008 by eva unit zero
frederick9125 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 And one thing i wonder how our team would look if still had fischer, vladdy and feds playing. who wouldn't the wings have other than hossa? Clery, Rafi?
egroen 384 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 I immediately thought of the Islanders with all the players Sillinger traded away for peanuts. Though the Wings and Montreal would still be very high on the list.

The list includes: Datsyuk Fischer Hudler Filppula Meech Ericsson http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/teams/dr00005492.html Also, I like how there's a lot of recognizable names in the lists. CloudConnected 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 If we're looking for someone from the Wings who has had a very successful career...Tyler Perry was drafted us in the 6th round in 1995.
