Louisville 112 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Nah, they'll just fire their coach again.
DatsyukownzU13 1 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I wouldn't be surprised. This team relies on players that haven't even hit puberty to carry them through the season (well I guess that worked out for Pitt). But seriously, they have an extreme lack of offensive depth and their goaltending has been suspect as usual. Campbell is a fraud. He does that stupid spin move 3 times a game and I was so pumped to see him do it tonight and turn it over, which lead to a goal. Huet is largely overrated. There's a reason the Habs traded him away with only an unproven goalie in the system before the playoffs (whether that worked out for them I'm not really sure). Doggy 130 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I really hope they scrape into the playoffs so we can knock off Q's boys again and be assured of another Cup.

Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I think they are going to be in the playoffs for sure, and don't forget they had our number all last season. We won what 1 or 2 games in the season series with them?
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 The Hawks have had Detroit's number the past few years, but that could change now with Quenneville behind the bench. The Wings own teams coached by Q, both in the regular season and in the playoffs.

T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 But you all gotta admit, thier record and stats to date are pretty funny, being so even.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 That record is a hell of a lot better than what it's been in the past. No one was saying they'd all of a sudden contend for the best record in the West. Bottom line is that they're better than before and will only improve. Don't forget that they're still getting adjusted to a new coach. They gave the Wings a hell of a run for their money in their first meeting.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 There offense is lacking, Sharp, Toews and Kane are legit top 6 forwards. Campbell, Keith and Seabrook are legit top 4 defenceman. Khabibulin is good enough, and Huet is an alright goalie, but overated in my opinion. They dont have what it takes to win the Cup right now, or later in the season. Seabrook is at best a 4th but prob not that on most teams.

No, they only had their number last year but yeah, the wings > ANY teams coach by Quenneville

akustyk 84 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 too early to tell but I could see myself betting money on this. this team just excells in finding ways to f* things up. though, that early into the season I'd dare to predict they'll make the 7/8 playoff spot in West and get severely beaten in 1st round only to finish it after 4-5 games
