Louisville 112 Report post Posted November 10, 2008 Meh, hockey helmets outside of decorating the goalie masks aren't supposed to look "pretty" anyways. Doesn't bug me one way or another. No, but it shouldn't look like child tracker either.

This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2008 What the DEUCE! That thing is UGLY!!! As everyone's mentioned it's right up there with the JOFA helmet. And anyone who says "egh, not bad" has absolute horrible taste in hockey equipment.

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted November 10, 2008 If there is some benefit where it would reduce concussions, or head injuries in general, then I'm all for it. I'm sure the design can be tinkered with. However, if there is no real advantage of this to a helmet like CCM, then I can't see this really catching on too quick. That's exactly why Messier is promoting the thing. It's supposed to have some kind of padding that resembles honey-comb that absorbs the shock of a head shot that would normally be absorbed by the player's head. shoe 165 Report post Posted November 10, 2008 I heard him talking about it on lunch on the radio. He says rounded helmets reduce damage ( thats why motorbike helmets are rounded) I dont know why but thats what the studies showed. its customisable with something like 300 variations. At least someone is trying to do something, helmets have really been the same for the longest time.

cirov19 1 Report post Posted November 11, 2008 That doesn't even look like a real picture? But it's actually not that bad if you look at the link to the website somebody posted. The black part kind of throws it off a bit. The problem with people these days is that we all hate change. It's really not that bad. I think some people are saying they don't like it based on what they think others want to hear or what they think sounds cool, rather than their own opinion. Guest Four Report post Posted November 11, 2008 The only part that throws me about the helmet is how ugly the back looks. I like how protective this helmet seems and hope it is used to the best of it's ability if it can in fact, absorb all the contact it says it can. And the black piece can change colours too
Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2008 Maybe they should start working on shoulder pads with pillows on the shoulders. That will prevent a lot of injuries!
