Slave 31 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 5-2 wings kopecy vs perry, kopecy drops him, 1 shot strait in the nose right between his baby blues... lilja vs pronger lilja drops him datsyuk vs neids, datsyuk throws him down but we call it a draw perry comes back and gets a wicked onetimer from selanne right inn the face....out for 4 months pronger comes back and tries to run zetterberg, zetterberg moves..pronger with a shoulder injury out for 3 months...zetterberg points and laughs at the stretcher being carried off. huds with a goal, cleary with a goal and zetterberg with the trick, he gets the 3rd goal after dodging that pronger hit, after he gets the goal he grabs the puck from the net, skates to the bench gets a marker from babs, autographs it to pronger and hands it to him as he is being strapped down to the stretcher. Then the medics are like "holy s*** it's Z" and pose for pictures with him while pronger lays in agony on the stretcher.

stormboy 47 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 wings need need need this one. c'mon, boys. 4-3 wings: getzlaf with no points. i don't know why....i hate that guy. and every time i look at a box score and see that he's racked up more points, it just pisses me off. stormboy 47 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 oh, btw...despite my frustration at certain games, i haven't jumped on the "season is over" bandwagon yet. i'm not saying i WILL if the wings lose this game, but if they just get beat up, have s***ty goaltending, and can't score goals, i'm not saying the season is over, but this has to be a litmus test for our team. of our eight losses so far, two have been against vancouver, one against san jose, one a piece against boston, montreal and pitts, plus the one against the ducks. we need to prove that we can run with these teams and not just beat up on weaker teams. a loss tonight makes four out of five. not acceptable. if we can't beat the ducks, we can't win the cup this year, IMO. i'm not just talking about tonight's game (if we lose this we have no shot) but i don't see how a team that consistently loses to the ducks is going to make it. oh, and also, how the f*** does getzlaf have five more points than hossa? god, have i mentioned i hate that guy? SDavis35 140 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 Nice thread, Hockeytown! Alright so I had a dream last night that our boys played a PERFECT game. It's gotta mean something right?! We got this! GO WINGS!! GO OZZIE!! *not sure who's in net?* 5-1 win. Rafalski, Cleary, Huds, Lids, Draper My dream had a 2-2 tie... and I was playing. So factor in my lack of ability and it's at least 4-2 Wings (keeping the score realistic)
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 OK, I predicted 4-3, but in response to the post I've seen here (and totally enjoyed- thanks, people!) I'm changing my prediction. Wings win 6-0. Wings: Lilja x 3, Drapes (assisted by Lilja), Flip (assisted by Lilja), Kopy (assisted by Lilja). Lilja fights Pronger, Getzlaff, May. Wins all fights, of course. Sammy facewashes Perry, and has to answer to Parros. Parros trips on his mustache, and Sammy is credited with the win. Lilja with a triple Gordie Howe Hat Trick, and Sammy is named the new Team Enforcer.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 Kopecky vs. Perry! I'm calling it right now! If I see this, I will consider this game a victory, regardless of if he wins the fight, or if we win the game.
chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 My vote: f*** the Ducks. Let's please stop losing to good teams. At 14-8-3 the Ducks are a mediocre team at best.
CrossoverThrash 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 100% agree Esteef. No reason to carry him if we're not going to even play him against the toughest team in the league... Have no fear though, look at our powerhouse 4th line that will match up against Parros: Meech-Draper-Maltby no stuart and kronner will take care of parros, the guy skates wiht his head down almost exclusively
CrossoverThrash 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 if im not mistaken last game sammy was goin after perry, maybe his balls will finnaly grow and he will take him on if somehting happens
miller76 463 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 If I see this, I will consider this game a victory, regardless of if he wins the fight, or if we win the game. If Kope was to drop the gloves with Perry, win or lose, the Wings still win. I would gladly sit Kope for 5, while Perry sat for 5. That would be a favorable trade off for the Wings. GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 Not much faith in this thread for the most part. The Red Wings will win tonight. Red Wings: 4 (Hossa, Lidstrom, Cleary, Datsyuk) Duckies: 2 (Getzlaf, Moen) My only hope is the refs don't ruin another Wings/Ducks game like usual. I want to see two skilled hockey teams, not a penalty fest.
Krystal 41 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 (edited) Show no mercy - leave no doubt. The Wings have this handled. Edited December 1, 2008 by Krystal
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 At 14-8-3 the Ducks are a mediocre team at best. Do you think every team but the Wings are mediocre or not a challenge? The Ducks are playing great hockey right now, and will be a huge test not only physically, but skill wise as well. I think we have this one, but we're gonna need some chippy play, and Ozzies best game of the year to do it, only get to see the first period, so Go Wings Go! YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 If Downey doesn't get called up against the Ducks, why the f*** do we have him? He should've been in against Boston as well. Because the Wings don't have the cap space to bring him up.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 At 14-8-3 the Ducks are a mediocre team at best. The majority of those losses came in the first few weeks of the season. They're running on all cylinders now and are playing MUCH better hockey than the Wings are. In fact, the Ducks really turned it around in their win against the Wings, so maybe we can return the favor, and get back to playing good hockey with a win over them tonight. Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 I don't give a sh*t how good the Ducks have been playing lately. The Wings need to come out flying in this one (no pun intended).I want to finally see a CONVINCING win against a worthy opponent.C'mon boys! Let's get it together and rip those Ducks apart!!!!!!
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 Because the Wings don't have the cap space to bring him up. So our forwards get to take abuse because management/coaching staff didn't plan ahead and have space available at all times to move necessary guys up and down? If that's the case, we should carry a fighter at all times to avoid this type of situation. Downey won't do us any good in GR tonight! esteef
FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 I wanna see Getzlaf's line being held scoreless as well. Haven't got the stats to prove it,but it seems we're always in trouble with him,Perry & Co. Hunger & passion W Go Wings!
Guest E_S_A_D Report post Posted December 2, 2008 I have a bad feeling about tonight. The Ducks will have a gameplan to attack our stars physically, not going to be pretty.

Its very possible that they were planning on trading one of Lebda or Meech in addition to Quincey before Chelios went down. And honestly, as much as I would like to see Downey, hes not going to stop the Ducks from getting physical with our guys. Downey may make them pay for the liberties taken, but him and his 4 minutes of potential ice time aren't going to be a deterrent. Not to mention, the Ducks have about 5-6 players who are not only willing to get dirty, but also to drop the gloves to back it up. While Downey is sitting in the box serving his fight minutes along with Parros, for example, Perry, Pronger, Moen, May, etc are still going to be roaming the ice.
