The Mule 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 (edited) It's no secret the Stars have struggled this year, so I'm hoping the Winged Wheel can beat up on a bottom-feeder while they're down and out. With that said, I don't think this game will be a blowout, but the Wings will prevail all the same. Detroit takes this one 4-1 on goals from Hossa, Cleary, Kronner, and Flip. Modano will pick up the only marker for Dallas, if only to rack up another point for my team in a hockey pool I'm in. EDIT: Just read that Conks will be making his third straight start. Does anyone know why? Edited December 12, 2008 by The Mule
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted December 12, 2008 Hopefully the Wings don't ease up on them because of their standing. That and I need precious points for the weekend picks.

Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 We better do really well. I'm hoping for like 5-1, but that probably won't happen.
ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 I don't see this one being any different than our last few games. Dallas takes an early lead, the Wings come back to win it 5-3. You heard it here first.
j.hoop 64 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 (edited) stars penalty kill at 57, while our PP is at 30. holy jumpin!! i hope we net at least 3 PP goals. was just perusing the stars forums and came across some funny stuff. ive never once expected the wings to get torn apart !! high hopes... too bad the Stars WILL NOT win That if the Redwings only win Friday's game by three goals, that should be considered a victory for the Stars We couldn't even beat Phoenix last night! And you think we have a snowballs chance in h*ll of beating the wings! I expect something worse than the waterloo, or the battle of Big Horn. I think the Stars lose huge. Two franchises headed in VERY different direction You're looking forward to playing the Red Wings? That's like looking too see someone get murdered. It's going to be a disaster. And, you want to witness it? the game is over in the first 15 minutes. They may even hang 10 on Turco all those comments are from different posters! Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 EDIT: Just read that Conks will be making his third straight start. Does anyone know why? Because he was damn good last game. Swayze 81 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 I heard somewhere that Babcock wants to push Conklin, see what he's made of, that sorta thing. 5-1 Wings, Not predicting Wings scoring, but Richards for the Stars.
I Red Wings I 40 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 I was kind of hoping Ozzie would start. A win could help his confidence a little bit. Well I shouldn't get ahead of myself, anything could happen. Go Wings!
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 (edited) If the Wings bother to give even a half-hearted effort, this should be easy pickings. Poor Stars are just decimated with injuries, missing their captain, their top D men, amongst others. Never count the Stars out on their home ice, though... they will surprise you every time. Turco is probably very sad to know that Datsyuk will be playing tonight. I am sad that I am not able to be in Dallas for the game. Poor me. ahem, anyway... I say 3 for us and none for them. Go, Wings!! Go, Conks!! PS - Robidas is listed with a "questionable" mouth? I think that is what they should list as the reason for Avery's absence. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 I'm gonna be pissed if we don't nail the stars with at least 5 goals and win by more than one. Their defense is one of few that are markedly worse than ours. Its downright terrible. We better convert tonight A LOT.
