It's interesting that he believes if you wear a visor, you shouldn't be allowed to fight.

I agree with this 100%. It's a danger to the opponent and for many guys in the league, they use it as a shield to protect themselves.

I've seen Cory Perry push his down to protect more of his face.

If you start a fight with a visor, then you should get a severe penalty and fine.

Thoughts?

How does he feel about huggers and wrestlers?

The league should make rules which make it harder for guys like Laraque to employ boring fight strategies.

They should do them like those ***** slap contests you see on the Internet. Take turns smacking the s*** out of each other until someone yields.

Nah, that's how baseball players (*******) fight whenever there's a brawl in their games.

It's much more appealing seeing women doing that kind of style than men.

He's exactly right. Guys with a visor should take it off or sit the rest of the game. Guys who make a habit out of it should be suspended a game each time after a certain amount of times. The unfair advantage they have while wearing a visor is ridiculous. Also, the refs shouldn't let them fight. Break up any fight that has an idiot wearing a visor and another one not.

i guess my question to this is: a fight takes two. what about the other guy? obviously the argument for keeping helmets on in a fight in the whole smacking-your-skull-on-the-ice thing. that being said, if i'm Guy A and Guy B wants to start a fight, do i not have the choice of saying, "Guy B is wearing a visor; i don't want to fight him." if all the Guy A's around the league go public with these sentiments, anyone who wants to be a legit fighter will be shamed into not wearing a visor, hence lowering the danger. *shrug* or so it seems.

Just keep Semin out of that fight, hate to see him get injured.

Without reading the rest of the thread...

Edit: it's an additional unsportsmanlike if they call you the instigator

You have a visor shield, take it off for the fight IMO. Not because of safety but because of unfair advantage.

And if the whole helmet goes off, yeah there are issues with possibly getting concussions from falling/slipping, etc., but there's also risks of skates to the face, getting dented with a puck, getting injured many ways outside of fights/normal play, could go on and on. Where do you draw the line?

I don't daydream of fights but it'd be a shame if it gets curbed down.
