Blueliner 69 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I won't be too suprised or upset if he does play. Whenever there is a suspected head, neck, or back injury you're supposed to take these kinds of precautions. But it sounds like everything checked out and will depend on whether or not Hossa feels he can play.
Blueliner 69 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Apparently, Hossa was asking doctors if he could play tomorrow. Babcock says he probably won't. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...sa_carried.html

whitneydatsyukrox 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Oh man do I love Hossa. I hope he doesn't play the Avs and he likely won't, but I can totally picture him flat on his back in the hospital after such a freak accident, asking to play the next day! Incredible man. Grim 5 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Fer goodness sakes, let Hossa rest up... at least until the weekend if not longer. We need that guy rolling come playoff time. Call up Leino!
Yzermania 156 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 haha the guy gets taken out on a stretcher and then asks the doctor if he can play tomorrow, what a f***in trooper. I love that guy.
The Secret 304 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 haha the guy gets taken out on a stretcher and then asks the doctor if he can play tomorrow, what a f***in trooper. I love that guy. Thats the heart for the team and for the game that makes Hossa a requirement to sign here. Hossa is made for this team. I do hope they give him a few days rest to ensure he is 100%, no sense even risking anything further when its not necessary. If it was game 7 of the SCF then it would be hard to say no to him but right now I would much rather err on the sdie of caution. Thank God for Hossa!
Holmstrom96 347 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 The hit wasn't dirty. Also, the Blues player that hit him immediately showed concern for Hossa, which was very classy.

Frozen-Man 144 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Just watched nhl on the fly and according to Craig Button, Mike Babcock says Hossa hopes to be able to make the trip to play the Avs tomorrow. If this is true I think it will be the best news we got all year. Hossa is the Wings best offensive player. What a relief, it could of been so much worse. You gotta be kidding me. Even if all tests come back good, you gots to rest him a bit more just to be safe. That was too scary an incedent to risk playing him right away. Maybe he'll remain on the trip with the team, but no way he plays tomorrow, and I'll actually be really disappointed if he does. I can't imagine they'd play him tomorrow. I mean, they let him take a game off for concussion-like symptoms. I don't see them putting him in after being hospitalized. I've got nothing to back this up but when I read that Hossa would probably make the trip to Colorado with the team I immediately wondered if he wanted to be on the trip because there was going to be a press conference about him signing a new contract with the Wings being as today is the trade deadline and all. Again, nothing to back that up but just wondered if that's why he wants to be there so bad. (I can always hope that is why anyway. )

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hossa = heart. I loved him before he was a Wing, and I couldn't admire him more at this point. I hope he doesn't play in Colorado, just because we need him to be well for the playoffs, and the Wings can clearly win without him. Thank God Marian's OK. Made my day here! Oh, and Frozen-Man? What you said!!
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 It was tough as hell being at Bdubs last night not being able to hear anything (stupid effing basketball games) but luckily a friend was keeping me updated with whatever was being said via txts. IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Thank you!!! I agree Hmm. I mean I don't disagree, if he is in pain. Clearly the hit was not as bad as it looked, if Hossa says he's good... He's good! I hope he does play tonight...
