Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 i just mean 1-on-1 when we play a team, our goalie gets alot less shots but yet cannot keep more out of the net then the opposing goalie. Then i see these same goalies get blown out by some suckass team. OOOhh aaah so close is all i hear when we are shooting, goalies seem to have a leprechaun in their jock with how lucky they get against us. You have to remember quality versus quantity. We may get more shots on net than the other team, but the ones that the other teams get away are usually of better quality since the s***ty shots usually get stick blocked or blocked in general. Think about all the point blank shots that the other teams get or the odd man rushes they have. They may not get as many shots on net as the Wings, but the quality of theirs shots are usually a lot better than our perimeter shots.
boomer 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I want to see that more from Franzen; I like the way he bowled over Klee at the end of the period.
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Btw, for those just joining the early game (Electro?) it's 1-0 Blues off a goal Ozzie saw all the way and just whiffed on. Either that's sarcasm or it actually happened. Either way, I'm sure plenty of people broke dishes over it. In any event, we'll get it back and then some. No worries. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I wish Hot-n-Readys were 5 bucks here, they are 6 bucks here at CMU! Here in GB, some locations have them for $5 while others have them for $6. I don't understand why.
Guest MrSandMan Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Bottom line, if it weren't for Ozzy, this game would already be a blowout. Oz made some key saves. I didn't expect a shutout anyhow. We just need to play smart D and the goals will come. Wings will prevail. Just play simple defensive hockey.
datsFan40 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I know it's hard to forget what he did for us last year in the postseason, but I am getting real tired of Stuart's play. How does he miss that pass to Oshie. He was right there, i'd like to say he was out of position but he wasn't he just flat out didn't read the pass and deflect the puck. But he continues to turn pucks over and get out played in our own zone. I know the team has a whole has been lackluster in their own zone but stuart just sticks out even more. And when was the last time our goalie(s) made a save to keep us in a game. I watch all the other teams and we get get good chances on them and they make the saves like NHL goalies should. But for some reason, any good chance our opponent gets on us, our goalie gives up. It's really getting old. They aren't playing that bad, just one or two things need to change to change the whole confidence of this team.

Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 From what I'm hearing, the Wings are playing less sluggish and more energized. That's good, hopefully it'll translate into some goals. Not for nothing, but it's hard to win games when you look like you'd rather be tucked in with a binky and your teddy bear.
EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Damn, I didn't realize we were playing so early... I just turned on the tv to set up the dvr for the game and it was on... I have to go to work in a half hour... Hopefully we'll have ten goals by then.
Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 How many times do I have to hear that the team the Wings are playing are a different team. A different Blues team, a different Jackets team, a different Wild team. I am sick of that s***. It's an excuse for poor play. Why can't the Wings just play better than them? Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Here in GB, some locations have them for $5 while others have them for $6. I don't understand why. Likely demand. Higher demand means they can raise the prices and still sell as many. Ironically it's $5 here (like $5.40 with taxes) but there's lots of competition all around. Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Easy answer. We aren't fighting for a playoff spot. We haven't been fighting for a playoff spot in years. I'm just sick of the excuses. syntax 359 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Here in GB, some locations have them for $5 while others have them for $6. I don't understand why. Franchises are given some leeway with pricing. Bottom line, if it weren't for Ozzy, this game would already be a blowout. You can pretty much say that about any goalie, in any hockey game. Holy hell, I'm tired. Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I'm confident we'll pull this out and if what you're saying is true, we owe Ozzie for the fact we still have many chances to come back and win. I want him to get win #300 so maybe some of you will crawl off his ass for 2.5.
wingfan1991 221 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 i find it unbelievable how every shot from the point, lobbed or hard, gets through 10 guys and finds it way to the net.. we can't block or prevent a pass if our lives depended on it.. it's scary. its the only way wings lose.. they are never beat on 2 on 1's or breakaways (very rare), its always not being able to get it out of the zone. again today in the first period, about 10x we couldn't get it out, and any shot from the point.. always ends up on our net. pure garbage.
