Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 14, 2009 My bad...I wonder whom I'm thinking of? You were probably thinking of Green. Many people accuse him of not playing defense. Likely a "defensive" () stance because Green has been getting most of the league attention, even for the Norris since he leads D-men in points/goals, and is amongst the league leaders in +/-. Washington as a whole tends to play an on edge style of game, kinda erratic, but Green's defense is fine.
Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 When the Wings allow a goal and I look to see who's on the ice, wondering if I'll see the Kronwall-Stuart pairing is like turning on the faucet and wondering if water will come out. Babs needs to split them up. Lidstrom-Stuart, Rafalski-Kronwall.

True, Kronners seems to have regressed defensively this season.

Lucky you. I'm hit or miss on the whole water thing. Maybe that's the problem. They need more hits and fewer misses.

Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 All those pucks at the net during our pp and nothing, which isnt new, every goalie in the nhl seems to play better then ours. Because every goalie in the NHL is better then ours. Just look at the numbers. I know Conks has good numbers, but he is on the downturn now.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Nice save Oz.. that's 3 big ones so far this period.
Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Datsyuk, Holmstrom and Zetterberg on the 1st line NOW.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 This has been a pretty tight first. That should bode well for the Wings going forward.

Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I would support an instigator in that situation. Franzen laid a clean hit and McKee got his man feelings hurt so he wanted to go and start something. Grow up McKee. It's hockey. If you don't like getting hit, then ******* leave you loser.
PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 That was a pretty intense start to the game. Wish the score was tipped the other way, but at least it's been fun to watch.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Btw, for those just joining the early game (Electro?) it's 1-0 Blues off a goal Ozzie saw all the way and just whiffed on.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 Babs needs to split them up. Lidstrom-Stuart, Rafalski-Kronwall. So you put 2 defensive oriented and 2 offensive oriented d-men together? That 2nd pairing would be a puck turnover disaster.

Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) Why Babcock screwed up the lines again Just doesn't make sense. Wings are much better when Dats plays with Hank and Homer. Edited March 14, 2009 by Reds4Life

I know Conks has good numbers, but he is on the downturn now. i just mean 1-on-1 when we play a team, our goalie gets alot less shots but yet cannot keep more out of the net then the opposing goalie. Then i see these same goalies get blown out by some suckass team. OOOhh aaah so close is all i hear when we are shooting, goalies seem to have a leprechaun in their jock with how lucky they get against us.

If I were a goalie, I would play a tighter game against the Wings too. Everyone wants to play well against the defending champs.

OOOhh aaah so close is all i hear when we are shooting, goalies seem to have a leprechaun in their jock with how lucky they get against us. This has long been an accusation regarding goalies and the Wings. I think last year was kind of an anomaly. For instance, Hasek got flak back in the cup season because he'd get bored from not getting many shots and do stupid things. But those people looking at Ozzie's stats and basing his year on that really don't have a clue as to what the problem has been this season. Edit: 2002 cup that is. Mike 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 So you put 2 defensive oriented and 2 offensive oriented d-men together? That 2nd pairing would be a puck turnover disaster. Stuart needs to work with Lidstrom to pick up his game. Look at what happened when Kronwall got paired with him. It wouldn't much matter what the second pairing was, Rafalski, Kronwall and Stuart are all turnover happy.
