Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Just a little thing on Puck Daddy that shows what the matchups would be on NBC going into the playoffs with the teams as they are ranked today. http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_nhl...mPKr9ADKailhDaK

mjlegend 155 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 I still think that Bettman would want more Penguins in those games.

Blueliner 69 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 I hate how NBC only shows Pittsburgh, Philly, and NYR. They all suck. Show good teams like: Detroit, Boston, New Jersey, Washingtion, etc.

I can think of maybe three, one of those being the Winter Classic, and the other one being the Wings vs. Pens game from February. And if I'm not mistaken either Detroit vs. Minnesota or Detroit vs. Columbus will be on NBC some upcoming Sunday. That's all I've got.

Detroit has two more to go

Incorrect. 4 is the max this season, and there was something like between 10-12 NBC games total. 1/3 to 1/2 of the games on NBC being the Red Wings -- one of the teams the contender to the cup finals (Penguins), the other the most profitable team in the league (Rangers) -- means Wings fans have little to ***** about without sounding rather clueless. Nev 1,085 Report post Posted March 23, 2009 Very funny So have they installed some unwritten rule that no team can be on NBC more than 4 times in the regular season? Its the only reason that it wouldn't be the Rangers, Pens and Philly every weekend (it just feels like they're still on every weekend). Not just NBC mind, ESPN was virtually the home broadcaster for Philly when they showed the NHL back in the day. OTOH, I can see why they want to show big market teams (more viewers)

Just because I'm a Wings fan doesn't mean I like it, heh. Trust me, I'd be fine with only 1 or 2 Wings NBC games if it meant less Rags, Pens, and Flyers.
