Cleary injured in practice?

The most intresting bit of news here is likely the fact that Kopecky moves up while Maltby does not, Bruce believes it means Malts will be riding the pine when Helm is in.

I disagree.

Kopecky has more upside and is better offensivly.. So he fits the 3rd line role better then what Malts would.. But when it comes to being a 4th liner player. Maltby is better.

You look at the Winter Classic, Who sat out? It was Kopecky. Odds are, He'll be splitting it with Drapes/Helm on the 3rd throughout the game

Babcock said to Pierre on Sunday, That Playoff season is the real hockey season for guys like Drapes and Malts..

-

That might be me trying to justify why i dont want Kopecky playing in the playoffs over Maltby though.

I'd rather Kopecky sit than Maltby, but Kopecky has been stronger the second half of this season than he's shown prior (not that that's saying a ton).

Don't worry Mac, I'd say Kopecky will be playing on a short leash. ;)

Kronner hit him into the boards during a drill and he left the ice.

Kopecky and Sammy get promoted in his absence and Helm centered Draper and Malts.

s***.

This is not good for the already weak penalty kill. Cleary's puck clearing and generally great pking is critical to the success of the Wings' pk.

f*** Sammy on the 2nd line. Hudler is a wizard with those passes. He should be on the 2nd so he can feed the puck to Franzen and Hank. Sammy on the second line makes my eyes bleed. He is so good at rendering great shifts by his linemates useless and/or unproductive.

I agree. Let's hope Cleary's injury is not too serious. Especially since we're already missing Lilja on the PK. Get better soon Clears, we need you!

From MLIVE:

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...er_out_for.html

Update from Tuesday's practice: Wings center Kris Draper won't play in the first two games against Columbus due to the upper-body injury that sidelined him for the last two games of the season. His availability beyond that has yet to be determined.

Also, forward Dan Cleary left practice early after getting checked along the boards by Niklas Kronwall. Coach Mike Babcock said he didn't have an update on Cleary's status for Game 1 Thursday.

Yeah, Cleary, one of the hardest working guys on this team day in and day out, who isn't a top producer but still puts up a pretty good number of points, who is easily in the top three on our team to place in front of the net... you're right. He's useless.

I love Cleary. He's easily my favorite player on the Detroit Red Wings for the pure heart and motivation he shows every second he's on the ice. Best wishes to him and here's to him being a-okay! :beerbuddy:
