The NHL does not want the Wings to win the cup this year.

You know, I've been mulling this over a lot, and I have to agree. We've won 4 cups in the past 12 years. We're in the playoffs every year. We're a top 3 team every year. It HAS to be annoying to other fans to watch us do well year in and year out.

With all the emphasis on parity, and with the way the Wings are defying it, you'd have to think the NHL is trying to do something about it.

I'm not sure if the refs were THAT bad. I would have liked a call on the stuff on Holmstrom in front of the net, but that's all I ca really think of. It seemed all of our penalties were fairly legit.

It's ok because I mother ******* agree with you. Holmstrom gets analed in front of Mason but then we step in front of a guy and get interference. Plus, Columbus keeps charging Ozzie and punching our players after the whistle.

Perhaps the way to be a "model franchise" is to get the refs to favor struggling markets?

I totally agree that the league and other fans are probably very tired of the Wings' success, but I have a really hard time believing that there is some legitimate "conspiracy." Like, the league and all the officials held a secret meeting and decided they were going to do everything in their power to sabotage us? I don't buy it.

Distaste for our constant winning ways? Yes. Organized conspiracy? No way.
