I totally agree that the league and other fans are probably very tired of the Wings' success, but I have a really hard time believing that there is some legitimate "conspiracy." Like, the league and all the officials held a secret meeting and decided they were going to do everything in their power to sabotage us? I don't buy it.

Distaste for our constant winning ways? Yes. Organized conspiracy? No way.

Look, there is corruption in business, there is corruption in government, there is corruption in frickin educational systems (Hello, Detroit), there is corruption in sports.

When unfathomable sums of money are involved in any way - direct or indirect - then corruption inevitably follows. That pattern plays itself out over time and place.

I'm not saying that IS the case, but to think the big heads aren't mulling over how to affect some outcomes without their fingerprints, you'd have to be kidding yourself. Its not like we don't already spew adages about how "the calls even themselves out" or how "the refs are just inconsistent." We've already talked ourselves out of there being any actual intent to sway the game by reffing, so all the more reason why refs can get away with swaying things this way and that.
