pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 So, I doubt it's permanent, but Darren Pang has replaced Pierre McGuire between the benches during today's NBC broadcast! He is doing the Pens / Flyers game right now with the rest of NBC's first-string announcers (Emrick, etc). I'm extremely happy about it and wouldn't be upset if I never had to listen to Pierre again. I actually ran into Mr. Pang at a Kings game (Coyotes in town) and told him I missed him on the national broadcasts. He said he was working on it (clearly he wasn't lying!). I ended it with, "I just wish you would replace Pierre McGuire between the benches, we'd all love to see that" he smiled big and said he really appreciated the complement. puckbags 863 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 I mean Pierre can be exhausting but what is wrong with having a guy who is passionate about the sport we all love? He knows the game inside and out...tells us the stuff we want to hear (and some that we dont) but all in all he brings a perspective to the game that is different. I like alot of the different commentators out there but I absolutely have no problem with a guy like Pierre as long as I dont have to listen to him every game lol !! Shame on me for judging a book by it's cover! Hold up there...at what point did I say I was a Pierre lover? There are plenty of other play by play guys or color guys I would rather listen to. I was just giving my opinion on what I think of him. Some people get so narrow minded around here they forget this is a discussion board for discussing things !! b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 Pang is by far my favorite analyst in national broadcasts. Really enjoyed him between the benches today, he's so even-keel, Pierre always seems exaggerated, putting on a performance.
