chicago vs. vancouver

It's called managing expectations. Expect the team you want to win to lose, and therefore, you win either way. I predicted the Wings to lose, but wanted them to win. So in the end, I'm happy. But what if the Wings do lose? Then what? Then you'll be disappointed, and I'll be happy because I expected it to happen.

And that's life really. If you always expect the negative, then you'll never be unhappy, because you always win, 100% of the time. Why does 1/4 of the US population take antidepressants? Because they don't know how to manage expectations. Can't be depressed if you expected the worst to happen can you?

i'd rather be disappointed with them losing then saying my favorite team is gonna lose. no matter who their going against i always say their going to win thats just what a fan does when it comes to his favorite team

vancouver will win easy.. they have a better goalie by a mile and sedin bros are better than kane and havlat. toews is like yzerman with about 20 % as much skill. kesler will shut him down and bernier and burrows add depth. if chicagos idea of depth is dustin bufglen they r in for a surprise to say the least

btw when i am watching luongo he is incredible... best canuck since pavel bure. never lets in a soft goal, basically you need to get wide open and even then he might stop you. if we play canucks we are not going to be scoring on a 70 foot slap shot by liddy

Actually, Luongo does let in some soft goals. He is a traditionally slow starter and that's when it happens the most. However, other saves he makes during the same games tends to make up for them.

But after he's been playing for a month or so and he's in the zone, that's when he is truly incredible. Also, if he's criticized in any way, (Calgary media for instance), he gets very pissed and plays even above and beyond his usual incredible self. Flames fans damn near lynched one of their hometown sports writers after he criticized Luongo and then proceeded to put on a goal-tending clinic and shut the Flames out.

Guest Four

The sweetest road would be us cleaning up Anaheim, and then facing Chicago and owning them and then making it to the finals against the Bruins, where we obviously win :P.

That would be splendid if a perfect world.. Let's see how far it takes us
