I actually wound up going as an adult one year-- I was taking my brother the year he was 11 and I was 26, and I was in costume just for fun, and there were so few actual children out that year that people wound up giving me candy too! (The fact that I was dressed as a murdered referee, the night after a game when the Wings had been badly jobbed by the refs, may have also had something to do with it.)
