RyanK 1 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Mickey isn't retiring. This is just a nasty rumor. You can still catch Mickey with Bernie on NBC after the games and during intermissions. Also, on WRIF with Mike the morning after every game.
Kira 451 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 I may have to resort to last year's trick and turn the mute on the tv and plug in the XM to hear Ken Kal and Paul Woods instead of those Versus tools. The best of them is Dave Strader, but that's stretching it. Too bad they can't borrow the tandem from FSD.

Casey 145 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 little off subject but wasnt their a "buuuulllll shiiit buuuulllll shiiit" chant among the crowd? i swore i heard it after the stuart hit on selanne and him getting called for it There was, loud and clear. I can't count the number of times I've had to study during a game, and just cranked up FSN for audio while I was in another room. It's either FSN or Ken Kal, both of which are can't-miss. jollymania 162 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 luckily our game doesn't involve the staal brothers or crosby so we wont get emerick, but i will be pissed if they put olcyzk on as the color guy htat would be a major kick in the face to good honest hockey fans worldwide

ltgator333 3 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Ken and Mickey are the freakin best! I am going to miss them. You know what I don't think I've heard Mick complain about composite sticks in a while.....
Lancz 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 I love Mickey Redmond. Ken Daniels has grown on me over the years as well and I really am dissapointed that they can't call every Wings game. My wife and I enjoy watching the game so much more when it's on FSN. The day Mickey Redmond retires from doing Wings games I'll be very, very sad. I did catch the call about someone getting caught with a "dirty hooker" last night lol. I hope to see them both again next season!
wingfan4ever 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 I always enjoy listening to Mickey and Ken. I don't really care that they obviously have a Detroit bias. You're watching FS Detroit. ANd I think it was great last night when Mickey was talking about all the trash Perry talks.

NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 All of the NHL games I watch I either stream or download, so I've been exposed to lots of different commentary tandems, and I have to say that I like Mickey and Ken the most. While I think that Ken sometimes uses the word 'Datsyukian' (last night he even said Datsyukian-like, which is sort of a tautology) a bit too much, but is on the whole a great commentator, and a perfect foil to Redmond. While Redmond is biased, it's not in a pro-Detroit anti-everyone else way, it's in a pro-'old time hockey' and anti-composite sticks/new NHL/etc. way, which is really fun to hear. And the fact that he uses phrases like 'Bingo-Bango', 'Holy mackerel', 'Johnny-on-the-spot' and a 'donnybrook' endears him to me to no end.
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Ken & Mickey are terrific. The call of the Helm goal gave me chills, Ken's scream is ridiculuous. Edited May 16, 2009 by b.shanafan14
