What's the Deal with Babcock and Chelios?

Is Chelios injured, or does Babcock just hate the guy for some reason.

In a blowout game, when our team needs to rest our defense, the guy gets basically no ice time. Why was he even dressed?

At this point, Chelli is being treated like some fan who has never played in an NHL game before.

I mean he's not that bad that he can't even play in a blowout is he?

Also, I know there was lots of special teams in this game, but being up 4 and 5 goals, there's no reason he shouldn't have gotten more ice time.

The Blackhawks have a high-powered offense. Chris Chelios, whether you like it or not, is a liability on the ice. The Blackhawks have overcome three-goal leads against the Flames and Canucks. Babcock understandably didn't want to take any chances out there. Should he have played a little bit more? Maybe, but I understand what Babcock wanted to do.

Also, I'd bet five bucks this thread isn't made if dumbass Jeremy Roenick doesn't make his comments about the Cheli-Babcock rift.

Chelios had the 5th longest shift for the Wings in the game at 1:27. Kronwall, Zetterberg, Stuart and Franzen had a few seconds more, with Kronwall topping it at 2:00 even.

Cheli's time is up. It's sad really but he has gone the way of Paul Coffey, almost embarrassing himself out there. He looks more interested in his tan than playing hockey. I've got huge respect for this guy but whenever I see him on the ice now I hold my breath. I can understand him not wanting to sit, and for not wanting to take criticisms from the coach but I also want another cup and not a liability playing the back end.
