Wait, what? They just said it was either May 28th or June 5th to start (knew of the back to back). now this? Stupid ass NHL.

I want it sooner than June 5th, but not as early as the 30th. Wings have lots of injuries and I have a concert Saturday night! How about June 2nd or something instead :D. Plus, BOO back-to-back games in the SCF.

AKA Go CANES! (though unlikely)

They would move it up because the NBA finals would start sometime around the 5th as well. Why both trying to compete with that and get good ratings for at least games 1 and 2. I honestly don't care when they start, I just want to see us beat the Hawks wednesday night.

I do think it would be strange to have a week and a half off before the finals, if the finals are actually set as of Wed night. That said, back to back games 1 and 2 for the Stanley Cup finals is really, really stupid, especially after having this 2 days off between games during this round, which I'm still trying to figure out, why are they doing this? I thought they were pushing to get the Finals wrapped up sooner rather than later.

There is no game tonight, dumb.

If Pens win on Tuesday and we close it out on Wednesday.

The unreal thing is, games 1 and 2 would be back to back.

So the Pens will be rested and the WIngs won't. Surprise.

I really hate this. With the original schedule I'd be able to see a few of the games, but if they change it I miss the entire ******* finals. Man this has been a s***ty run for me.

Will the times of the games all be at night? Does anyone recall a weekend afternoon game last year in the finals? If they have afternoon games on the 30th and 31th i am gunna be SO pissed. I'll be working at some lacrosse thing those days.

Or Carolina could win one.

I know, seriously. How stupid can you be? My thoughts are that the players hate the idea but I guess that doesn't matter.

I really hope you are not suggested there is a bias here. Pens would get 4 days rest and Wings 2 and the difference would simply be due to the fact that the Pens swept their series and the Wings needed 5 games (based on the assumption that both are finished by Wednesday). To be honest, I'm thinking that the 2 days rest is the better spot to be in anyway.

Had they both swept, the Wings would actually be getting more rest and if it were the Wings that swept and the Pens that took 5 games, the Wings would be getting 4 extra days rest, not the 2 that the Pens would be getting.

All this is hypothetical of course.

I think it will be June 5th. There was talk of moving up the start if both conference finals were sweeps, which of course did not happen.

Well I'm not confused about the scenarios they had before..

That basically means both series' need to be a clean sweep in order to get the Finals on the 28th. If the Canes or Hawks win a single game, it's June 5th.
June 5th it is!

But the OP's article says May 29th or 30th now.. which I don't get.

The league is run by hamsters. The SCF do not need to start so bloody early. Granted it would be cool to have a game played on my birthday (June 7th) and have it potentially be a deciding game......but we have players that could use a little rest-up time between this series and the next, should we advance.

All of the finals games started at 8:00 last season.

I doubt even the NHL is dumb enough to play an afternoon game during the finals.
