How about Bettman starting the SCF 6 days earlier than planned and doing a back to back night game 1 and game 2 thus taking away any home ice advantage. Oh wait, it might not be good for the NHL product to wait over a week before playing the SCF? No. Conspiracy! It's all because Bettman wants to keep the Wings injured.
