Nucks' Ohlund looking for a new club - wants to win the cup

I really hope this is sarcasim but after some of the posts you've made I am leaning toward you being serious. This isn't the NBA. Sign and Trade deals are looked down upon in the NHL. Your hate of Homer is becoming more annoying each post you make. Besides, the chances we trade Holmstrom are very, very little. non-existent.

Fixed.

I love Ohlund. Gritty guy whos strong on both ends of the ice. He wouldn't be our #4 here, he'd be our #3. Hes better than Kronwall has been this entire season, playoffs included. But it really doesn't make any sense.

I would take Ohlund in a second, but the Red Wings are already stacked on defense. The remaining cap money this summer will likely go to keeping some of the forwards on the team.

This.

i have tremendous respect for Ohlund... but do the Wings really have room for another offensive D-man?? If they add anything on D at all, I hope its for a tough, veteran, stay-home *low-cost* type.

Good joke, man!

If Holmstrom sucks as bad as you say he does, why would the Canucks do that?

SHHHHHH!!!!!!

Holmstrom is the best! Clearly worth 2.5 million a season, IF NOT MORE. The guy is a bruiser. PURE intimidation. Have you seen him just OWN the crease lately? And all the points he's racked up. The guy is a virtual dynamo on offense. I mean, nothing you can say about this guy except "Franchise Player". The Canucks should use him 25-30 minutes a game, and the Sedin twins are Swedish too! The SHS line is the future. Kenny, get it done so we can help Vancouver become a powerhouse.

dunno but so far our D goes like this...

Lidstrom

Rafalski

Kronwall

Stuart

Ericsson

--------------

Meech

Lebda

Chelli

first 5 are lock if you ask me. Ericsson is not there yet but he looks like poised to join the big boys.

this leaves us with one roster spot and I don't think Wings would shell enough money to bring Ohlund

in, taking into account how they'll need to fill forward spots.

plus: we have all those guys, except Chelli, already signed. we're like 6M under the cap with a number

of F spots to fill. http://nhlnumbers.com/overview.php?team=DET&season=0809

meanwhile our D looks as good as it gets

in short: can't see this happen. everything speaks against this trade

Maybe we could pick up Fedorov and have him play D... I like it.

New news from swedish newspaper NSD:

- Sure, Detroit would be very interesting, but I don't think they are in need for defensemen, says Ohlund

Darn kenny, trade linja work your magic and make him a wing and let him take a discount :) 1.5M$ contract or something

Lidstrom-Rafalski

Kronwall-Stuart

Ohlund-Ericsson

YES PLEASE!

No.... that actually means that the Defense is set in his mind and knows exactly what he wants to do.

I am telling you guys and you are prolly getting sick of it, BUT: Trade our #1, #2, #3 picks this year, rights to Hudler (or sign and trade) ad Nik Kronwall to the Isles for the #1 overall in which we'll draft Victor Hedman! Opens up mone for Hossa, and our Defense will be "set" for the next 20 years, with Ericsson and Hedman being our #1 and #2 after Lids and Rafi are retired. Next year our D looks like:

Lids/Rafi

Stuart/Lilja

Ericsson/Hedman

Lebda (or Meech)

Offer whatever it takes to get that #1 pick! (short of Z, Dats, Helm, Abdelkader, and people with NTC's)

at the first glance it looks crazy but... it makes some sense at the end. The only thing is that Isles do need that 1st overall. Mainly to make some buzz around Tavares, attract more people, get some publicity, etc. So it won't happen.

Calling Ohlund an offensive defenceman is being pretty generous.

Well, both Isles and Tampa want Tavares then, so New Yrk is going to have to make up their minds, would Tampa take tat trade for the #2 if the Isles select Tavares? Maybe throw in an attractive prospect like maybe Andersson or someone of that nature to sweetin the pot. I just wish upon my wildest wishes that somehow Detroit gets ahold of Victor Hedman...

I hear you about the buzz, if they ARE entertaining ideas fora trade, they'll get more in return from someone who wants Tavares, but I don't know, the offer I put out there is a lot too!

Dig this one though, Tampa already thinking about trader Lacalvier (sp) how bout they trade him and their #2 to ISles for their #1? Then Detroit trades hat I said to Isles!

Sorry that stuff is off topic, but getting a hold of Hedman is theonly change I would want Holland to make on D, so say no to Ohlund...

Islanders are not going to let that pick get away. They are banking on that pick to turn around their organization.

Remember when this forum......

Wanted to waive Ozzie in order to try to get Josh Harding?

Wanted to give away Filpulla, Kronwall, and others for Hossa in 2008?

Wanted Kenny to do everything in his power to keep Todd Bertuzzi?

Wanted to trade Datsyuk for RADOSLAV OLESZ?????

Wanted to throw 3 million at Mark Bell?

Thought picking Franzen in 2004 was too big of a risk?

I trust my Wings to Ken Holland....You should too!
