I've felt it throughout the entire playoffs, Bylsma is classier than any of the losing coaches in these playoffs. I kept trying to find some type of "whining" from him, but he's been good. Hasn't said too much with a win (BYLSMA, the other Pens have said too much for sure) and doesn't whine in losing. Therrien didn't sound so whiny until he actually was faced with adversity from the Wings. Bylsma is now faced with an elimination situation and he's still level-headed. I like him, no complaints. Just wish he had a team that I could like just as much.

Again, he refuses to bite, Pierre s***face, oh sorry Mcquire, during the game tried to bait Danny with a loaded question about the Hossa Slash/Stick lift (depending what side of the aisle you are on) and he went on to say they need to play through it, not blaming the refs, not saying the Wings are cheating, not whining, not crying, just coaching.

I am willing to wager (and of course it is completely unprovable) that with Bylsma behind the Bench all season this team challenges Boston, SJ and Det for best record. As it was they were one of the best teams second half of the season. Remember before Bylsma they were out of the playoffs (9th I believe).

I hate the fact he coaches elsewhere and I have to respect him!

im pretty sure it was 10th

Bylsma is a really cool guy. i had the pleasure of working out with him and mike knuble one summer and they are both real nice guys. My dad actually grew up playin on dan's backyard rink with his older brothers. real classy man

He sounds a lot like Babs, you know the "They are a very good team", "We played better as the game went along".

He refused to bite on the questions that would either put blame on his players or down play the Wings.

He seems like a very heady guy, good line changes on the road, mixing up his lines.

This guy will be a good coach from what I've seen.

I would much rather hate the opposing teams coach, Like Q, Carlylye, Hitchcock (whom is a great coach), Therrien, those guys I can hate behind the visitors bench.

This guy I like!

gotta agree, Bylsma is classy, alot like Babcock, but without that edge babs has.

Too bad he's stuck coaching a few classless asshats.

Tonight he earns his money.

We saw what happen to Babs in the WCF when his team was against the wall, he lost but I really think he took a lot from that loss to the Ducks.

Bylsma has really got to refocus his team they were owned physically and mentally in the last game.

I agree that Byslma's nigh-impossible to hate, but I don't think it's necessary to hate the other team's coach in order to make the series enjoyable. Besides, no coach in the last twenty or so years has been as despicable as Crawford, so all the others pale in comparison and it's tough to work up as much hatred.

Maybe I missed a few of his pressers ... but from what ive seen all season is dude comes off as as a bit smug. I see some similarities in the way he responds to questions much the same as Crosby does.

Go Wings!!

Really, I thought he had a lot of Babs in him, even in the clip about the limo when he was asked about it he took the high road and sort of played it off.

I am not saying he didn't want to say F**K that limo and the Wings, but he didn't.

Yeah, he's one of the few of the Penguin staff and players that I can listen to. Listening to the rest of them are more like reading a gdt at the main board at hfboards. You know what I'm talking about...

he's a class act for sure. i had high hopes for quenneville too, but he let everyone down with his mouth. i thought he'd rise above that.

it would be easier if crosby wasn't on the team, or orpik. both of them can go apply for jobs as ducks ice girls next year.

Agree with all of this. I saw an interview where it was Bylsma and his daughter sitting in the seats at Mellon just shooting the breeze with a reporter pre-game 6 (VERY pre game 6) and he was talking about how cool it was to go from being an interim to the Stanley Cup Finals. I wish this guy all the best (just not tonight or, possibly, Friday night)... I'm sure we'll see more of him soon!

For the most part, all the coaches Detroit have faced have been fairly decent.

Except Carlyle.

Hitchcock, Carlyle and Quenneville all bitched to the media about one thing or another (Quenneville really lost it). So far Bylsma is showing more dignity and class then all of them I think.

Yea, I remember how much fun it was sticking it to that whiny ****** canoe, Therrien. He reminded me of principal McVickers from Beavis and Butthead "Uhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhh obstruction! Uhhhhhhhrrr you little bastards!" *scrambles with pill bottle and chugs whiskey*

Bylsma is so much more likable, you almost feel sorry for him. Almost.
