All the Pressure is on the Wings for Game 7

The thought of Cindy Crosby possibly skating the Cup at the JLA, with Bettman handing him the Cup is going to haunt me for the next couple of nights.

I'd rather die than see that happen.

I think we'll win the game, but all the pressure is clearly on us. We were up 2-0, and we blew the series lead. I hope our players, especially the younger ones can handle this pressure, because most people won't expect the Pens to win game 7 on the road.

Also, this would be the worst loss in Wings history if we can't pull this off. Worse than 1942, and worse than anything in my lifetime.

I think the pressure is actually on Pissburgh. They know they can't win in Detroit. They haven't thus far. Its obviously a homer series. The Wings would have to totally collapse and not show up.

I'm not sure I agree that all the pressure is on the Wings. Each team and every player is going to have to deal with a ton of pressure. Many on the Wings can handle it and we have seen it over and over. For example, Helm will be there his usual 100%. Hank will play his ass off. I think the Penns have more to sort out. Flury in Detroit, Malkin handling himself if they get behind and more.

I would feel confident in a wings victory in game7 if just lidstrom played like he did a few years ago... the whole team is alot more banged up than last year and it shows in the games...hard to keep good spirits up to be honest

The fact that it's a homer series is why the pressure is all on us.

I don't think a team has lost game 7 at home in the SCF since 1971. I know it hasn't happened in my lifetime. Also, only one team has ever lost when being up 2-0 in the SCF.

Most people don't expect the Pens to win where they haven't won before, thus the pressure will be on the Wings.

Well, the pressure is on both side but the positive thing I can think about:

1. We have the crowd on our back; huge boost

2. Line matching, Babcock, seriously, stop thinking about the line change that much but play the puck possession game, no dump and chase game anymore

3. Wings may feel the sense of urgency; if they don't, who are they going to blame? Themselves. This is the last game

Let us hope that the mental weakness shown tonight and in game 4 doesn't make an appearance at the Joe.

I think there is more pressure on the fans making posts threating to kill themselves if the wings lose. After all how many guys on the team already have 2, 3 or 4 cups ?

It will suck but its not the end of the world. Remember the pistons in 2005, not sure how many of you are fans but losing a game 7 sucked regardless of it being in San Antonio.

Don't kill yourselves guys, you cant take the game more serious than the guys making the millions its not worth it :)

I totally understand your view and thoughts on this, but I believe there is say 38 years of history against you, if your Pissburgh. I think it would be a total hockey changing thing if the Pens were able to achieve a win here friday. I still believe the odds are against them.

The Pistons played game 7 on the road that year. Game 7 at home in either the SCF or the NBA finals is almost impossible to lose.

Thats what I said it was in San Antonio. However I still sucks losing a game 7 regardless.

How so?

I do agree with you it'd be the worst loss in my lifetime. Luckily it won't be as we're going to win.

How good is Fleury in Detroit?

Anything can happen in one game, though.

That's why the Wings needed to come out and end this s*** like they did last year on the road. No reason to leave it up to game 7, the refs, bad luck, etc.

Being content with a game 7 is what they looked like for most of the game.

Nobody watched hockey in 1942.

It wasn't until ages later that everyone started talking about that team. Who knew it was hard to come back from 3-0 back then?

I still think this would be a worse loss.
