55fan 5,133 Report post Posted June 19, 2009 In every year ending in a 7, the Stanley Cup has gone to either a Canadian team or to Detroit. In 2007, the Red Wings lost to the Ducks, who went on to win the Cup and bring this streak to an end. In 2008, we did not face the Ducks, and we won the Cup. In 2009, we were supposed to lose to the Ducks as our punishment for breaking the Rule of 7, but we didn't. Chicago is an O6 team, so our mojo was equal to theirs, and so we lost to Pit to bring balance to the Force.
