(Which is why I think the Wings should sign another strong defensive forward). I would like to see Z get back to being a player the other team needs to keep off the score sheet. Why? Datsyuk has had ONE good playoff season and that was the year Z won the conn smythe. Playoffs > Regular season (evident because wings lost the cup because some players didnt show up) Everyone harps that Zetterberg had an offseason in regular season, but Datsyuks regular season awards means nothing if he cant get the job done in the playoffs. C20lw 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2009 Both are great players, but have different styles. Z is great all over the ice and def showing some real leadership on the ice. Dats is stellar with his Dangle Dangle and can get the plays going. They have awards to back up each of them as amazing players. Z spent the Pengs series shutting down Crosby whenever possible. Dats came out and played with a pretty serious injury. They play there roles and they play them well. They both can put up stats, they both can make the plays when it counts, and they both are capable of making mistakes. They both wear the Winged Wheel and are proud of it. They are going to be here for a while, building this team up, and carrying their weight. YOu can argue all you want about who is better, a lot of people have said we all have favorites. Bottom line is they play as a unit. I dont know if anyone "hates" Z or Dats, if they do I'm sorry but your an idiot. They have and will contribute so much to this franchise and this team. If you base whos better on table hockey... well Dats took that one. If you base it on the hotter female companion......yea you get where im going with that. And in 2002, give the scenario that he was a rookie with less playing time and less of a role on the team, I say he handled his own in limited playing time. So that's TWO or maybe THREE good playoff seasons. Not just one. This whole Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg comparisons about one carrying the other is absolute bulls**t. Yes they have great chemistry together more often than not. Yes they are two of the better players in the league right now. Why can't we just leave it like that? I agree. I love both Z man and Pavs! I hope they play on a line together this season... in 08 it was the best offensive and defensive line. Edit... Datsyuk has had two good playoffs. 07 and 08.
