sean 19 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 It seems like somewhere between Kopy, Hossa, Madden, they would have addressed their goalie situation. I guess they have more confidence in Huet than I would.
AD2044 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 guys this is great cause now chicago only has around 1.3 million in cap space not including Kris Versteeg and Cam Barker who are RFA's. I hope two teams come in with high offer sheets they can't match and they lose the rookie of the year and a top 4 defencemen. it is official talon is a moron and scotty is a figurehead cause there is no way he would let this happen. rage 24 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) AD2044 just said 1.6 million. Cam Baker and Kris Verteeg are RFA's. Wow, I'd love for Holland to send an offer sheet their way. It'll never happen though. Detroit is too classy of an orgination to do such a thing. Edited July 2, 2009 by rage
Zion 93 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 More like Detroit doesn't have the cap space. They REALLY screwed the pooch in game 7... what a CHEAP team (not counting Hossa).

Guest Shoreline Report post Posted July 2, 2009 I doubt anyone wants Huet at $5.625 million. That's pretty much it. Guaranteed they would have preferred to keep Bulin, despite his performance vs. the Wings. No other team would want to eat that salary for what some might argue is a backup. If their offense can mesh together, they will end up being downright scary.

They better hope Huet plays solid because their blue line is a bit of a joke; turnover after turnover. You can have the best offense in the world, but you cannot win without defense. The Hawks better hope they can score 4-5 goals per game at this point. Campbell is looking amazing with his $7 million contract.

Campbell is looking amazing with his $7 million contract. Campbell is obviously overpaid but he's not as bad as people are making him out to be. We're talking about the best team in the West and nearly back-to-back cup champs undressing him. The Wings defense wasn't exactly awesome for the entire playoffs either. Still, at very least on the forward side Madden can help the defense with a solid two-way game. He'll certainly head the PK and it'll be interesting to see him vs. Datsyuk or Z. No doubt Q will be pushing the same containment game Babs did with Z on Crosby. Edited July 2, 2009 by Shoreline
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) That's a good signing, to get him to agree to a 1-year deal. As others have said, Hawks could be really, really scary next season. The question is if their goaltending is solid enough to make them a contender, and of course beyond next year they really need to crunch the numbers in order to keep their team together.
