Has it already been determined that Williams will play on the PP?

I figured Kronwall and Ericsson will on the point for the 2nd unit. And please don't tell me that Williams is right-handed, because that doesn't mean s*** if the guy sucks.

Sammy was my least favourite player on the team for the longest time, even with Willy in the lineup. But... These days, I think I'd prefer Billy Bob Thornton over Neil Patrick Harris.

Once getting past the inital "ewww Jason," I totally agree with you. While I like Samuellson more as a Red Wing, he's gone and Williams at $1.5 million is a fine replacement. I just hope he has learned to not ***** to the press.

If Williams slacks on the ice or still has "emotional baggage" like people are saying in here (never really paid attention to anything regarding that honestly so I don't know) or doesn't play Babcock's style of hockey, Babcock will limit his time or he won't play. Should be as simple as that.

In the meantime, the Wings lost some scoring, Williams replaces that void to some degree given the availability of players out there and the cap and Wings money issues. This signing isn't as bad as people are getting all whiney about. The ideal signing? Not really. But given the Wings situation right now, it isn't that bad of a move.

I guess those TWENTY-THREE PAGES of bitching about signing JASON WILLIAMS really wasn't all that prudent, was it? Even if he was the slowest, laziest, biggest liability on the market: IT'S JUST ONE YEAR AT 1.5 MILLION!!

Now, Williams isn't any of those things which took this thread for people to realize and for the money and years this was actually a signing that ranges from decent to potentially great...and nowhere near the atrocity people made it out to be.

Personally, Williams' great speed and rocket shot puts his potential at 30 goals which, if accomplished, would impress me but not be shocking. He is filling a void and somebody's gotta score the goals lost this summer. Williams, in my opinion, has the best chance of Eaves, Helm or Leino to benefit the most from the void of scoring.

I think some people here expect Williams to be a Hossa replacement. Haha! Williams will score more goals AND points than Sammy will for $1 million less of a cap hit; for only a ONE year contract. People don't get that.

Williams @ $1.5 for a whopping one year contract is a bargain.

I personally like Samuellson more. I think he is a more versatile player. You could use him on penalty kill, power play, in the corners, in the high slot, etc. All I remember Jason Williams being able to do is shoot the puck and get knocked the f*** out.

I'd take Samuelsson between the two.

Although I would reserve the right to yell at him for his lazy d at the point and horrible shot accuracy.

Personally, I'd take Drake back first if that was an option.
