Anyone else excited to see how the Leafs will do this year under Burke? He seems to be really shaping them up and I may go see a few games this year!

I am very impressed with the signings... Mind you the defensemen they signed are nothing but gritty stay at home d-men, however, assuming Kaberle stays (which he will), then they will have success, they need a defenseman to quarterback the PP.

White a decent offensive defenseman, and Beauchemin should bounce back from his poor offensive year as well. The defense core for the Leafs looks to be in good shape... now their goaltending...

For the first time in recent years, it will be fun to watch the Leafs. I like what Burke is doing and I suspect it will all come together eventually. His formula works.

Burke's done an amazing job with the team... the fact that people besides Leafs' fans are getting excited is proof enough. I live in T.O. and have never been more excited for a Leafs' season to start. Plenty of team toughness, rock solid D, some questionable goaltending but plenty of upside to it. The only problem right now appears to be the top 6 but Burke is definitely trying to fix that. Signing guys like Tyler Bozak without giving up any draft picks/prospects is just what they needed. I wasn't really thrilled about drafting Kadri but hopefully he can live up to the hype.

If they can get into the playoffs and excite the city that will be fun and Id hate to be the team they play in the 1st round, who ever it is might get hurt and worn down Pitsburgh i hope its you, then I hope you play the Capitals then I hope the winner plays the Flyers.

Solid defense, goaltending is meh.....Toskala is pretty average, Gustavsson is an unknown, might have one of the most offensively challenged forward units in the league............eh, I doubt they're a playoff team.

I refuse to ever like a team run by Brian Burke. However I do think they will challenge for a playoff spot and I'm glad Leafs games will finally be worth watching again this year. Hopefully the Sens improve soon as well and the Battle of Ontario has some spark back.

I agree... When you have a team that relies of Grabovski and Blake for offensive support, you might have a problem.

I'm happy that an Original Six franchise is trying to turn around from their recent poor performance. It remains to be seen whether Burke can actually get them anywhere though; he did inherit the most important parts of the Ducks Cup team from his predecessor, and he isn't getting much in that respect from Ferguson or Fletcher.

There D is pretty solid IMO.

Kabrele - Schenn

Komisarek - Beauchemin

Exelby - White?Van Ryan?Finger?Ores?

Forward wise? WDF?!!? Alot of potential. But not enough talent regardless. They'll need to move a D-Man or two, to get some talent in there IMO.

They're definitely one of those teams you don't want to draw in the first round... They have 6 punishing defensemen that can check you through the glass. And as far as goals go, don't forget that they actually scored quite a few goals last year-- somewhere around 250 if I remember correctly.

I don't think they're good enough to be 2nd round winners, but they're definitely built like an 1st round upseter.

They were 10th in the league or the east or something last year

Im actually excited to see the progression of Schenn, he was good last year and he will be a force for years to come in the NHL, i think he will be the future captain of the Leafs. The Leafs have money u would think they would spend some being one of the wealthiest North American organizations in all of sports.

But the owners know that the Leafs will sell tickets no matter whats on the ice so why not pocket that money. Ugghh kinda feel for the fans but i want that Detroit-Toronto rivalry back.

I am actually real excited this year for them. Komisarek is my favourite American player at the moment. I am also becoming a Luke Schenn fan as of late.

I am planning on seeing them Oct. 26th in Anaheim. Can't wait.
