This is the words of a person who clearly didnt see any footage of the elbow, and doesnt even know when it happened deary me. It was a 2min minor for elbowing at the most, made worse by their goaltender diving around like he'd been shot. Was a love-tap compared to some of the things previous well-loved Wings have done. IM the one who has no idea what Im talking about when Im on the one who can actually remember when it happened? I think Kronwall should leave after he got that major and misconduct in the playoffs. With 6:08 left in the second, the series jumped to the mean stage when Griffins forward Aaron Downey picked his spot to make a statement. Long after a whistle stopped play for a Schneider save, Downey followed to the net, at least 30 feet, and blasted the goalie in the head with his left elbow. The intent was clear but referee David Banfield wimped out by not assessing the match penalty -- instead opting for five minutes for charging -- and Downey returned to the game in the third period. Fans here have become molded by this europussy style. What will happen if the Wings hit 40 fighting majors in a few seasons and also pull some dirty s*** here and there like just about every other team does? Will you soft angels denounce the Wings and profess your desire to root for some KHL team instead? We JUST SIGNED A GUY THAT PARALYZED A MAN AND ENDED HIS CAREER, PEOPLE!!!
