Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 I've played recreation hockey for years both Roller and Ice Hockey. For two summers I was goalie for a local hockey club. Both seasons/summers I finished the regular season with a 2.00 GAA and an about 90 Save % with 4 shutouts the first summer and 6 the next. Won league/club championships both seasons. My uncle puts a rink up in his back yard every Winter and a group of guys and I play about 30 games as a Regular season than we have a 1 or 2 series playoff which since we've been doing this I've been on the Championship team 8 Times but we played for over 12 to 15 years This year I'll be playing Sled Hockey for USA Hockey in Grand Rapids. I'm real excited about that. So I plan on playing this season.
Zion 93 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 I've looked worse than Cheli vs. Selanne on that breakaway goal in the least-talented of pickup games. But... I love this sport like no other. I'll get some pics this season before transferring to Italy.

I've watched sledge hockey before and it honestly looks like it's frustrating and annoying... But hey, do as your own, I just want to know why you would choose sledge hockey over ice hockey? But hey, if you are handicapped, disregard this post.
Broken 16 381 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 Play inline off and on. I'm due to get back on the skates. Haven't played on ice in years.
Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 Yes. I've been playing since age four. At my best I skated off and on with a CCHA team in practice, and was looked at to join their club team (I didn't have the money). All ice, I could never skate on wheels. These days my opposition includes former minor pros, current and former collegiate players, and some guys that are just flat-out good. I'm looking forward to the end of the off season. Hockey is an expensive habit, but worth every penny.

bonan78 1 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 Ice time in Orlando is too rich for my blood, so I'm stuck playing pick-up roller hockey. Thinking about getting a regular game with some co-workers going, though they'll all be wearing their Cindy jerseys, all abumch of flaming bandwagon-jumpers. Swayze 81 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 I used to play roller for 5 or 6 years, stopped during high school for some reason (broke my ankle but that wasn't why I stopped). Was gonna play ice for my high school but they owed the arena like $4,000 so they cancelled the team. Getting in shape right now though, gonna play something this winter, haven't decided which yet. Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 For sure! I got this hockey rink 1 kilometers away. Been there every year many times. Sometimes I spend the whole day there.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 For sure! I got this hockey rink 1 kilometers away. Been there every year many times. Sometimes I spend the whole day there. Finland must be great then... To spend a whole day at any arena here (in Windsor)... The ice would have to be available, which is impossible, and if it was available, you'd have to rent it for boatloads of dollars.
