Rumor: Danny Heatley to Sharks

I called this. I know it's not confirmed yet. But when it is confirmed, I have an "I told ya so" for a few members here. No other team made more sense for Heatley than the Sharks. My guess is this will be confirmed by the end of the weekend. Sucks though, cause the Sharks are gonna be pretty scary. It's all good though, I say bring it on. Red Wings fear no team.

Only team i dont like this for is Ottawa, and I seem to be in the minority here.

Taking on 2 Big Salaries.. 1 under performing player. 1 player who should be a more prolific scorer then what he is. Heatley Could/Can net as many points as both of them combined this year.

I guess I am on the fence. I hate Danny, He's a cancer. So putting him in SJ, Makes me think that they are going to fall to pieces sooner or later. So getting rid of him is a addition by subtraction IMO. I just think Ottawa could of pulled off something a bit more cap friendly. Frolov and Moller? Frolov and Simmonds? I'd take that over Stoll and Frolov.

Overall i think the biggest winner is LAK -

Dustin Brown - Anze Kopitar - Michael Handzus

Ryan Smyth - Patrick Marlaeu - Justin Williams

That is a pretty solid top six imo.

I pray that this isn't happening. I don't want Heatley on my team. What's to keep him from pulling the same BS again if he ends up unhappy on the Sharks for whatever reason? His salary would eat up all the cap space the Sharks have left and leave little room for moves during the season. I can do without a whining sniper.

I can't see it happening to the good of San Jose, that's for sure. I have to believe DW in this case: not happening.

I don't see it that way. If he's added, I'd actually put more weight on an Anaheim team that their GM seemed to carefully craft this summer than this team who'd be losing one of their biggest underappreciated assets.

They're reporting it on TSN and ESPN, so obviously - there's some serious weight to this... I think it's just a matter of getting all sides paperwork filed and NTC's officially waived before they confirm it - I think this is a done deal

What? LA would get hosed in that deal. Marleau, when compared season by season from his rookie onwards, is inferior to Frolov and 5 years older. No reason why they should be dumb enough to trade Frolov for the older version of himself when they're in rebuilding mode. Oh, and add a second player in there and it's retarded.

I really don't understand this trade. LA is getting ripped off, and San Jose is getting a deal of the decade. Marleau for Heatley. Screw San Jose, Ottawa should trade Heatley straight up for Frolov and Stoll, that way they don't get f***ed. I'm guessing the only reason San Jose is involved is because Heatley won't agree to waive his NTC. And why would Marleau anyways? LA is going no where, especially if they lose either guy. Bad deal, bad deal, bad deal.

Here's a way better deal, extremely fair to all 3 teams:

San Jose: Heatley

Ottawa: Frolov and Stoll

LA: Fischer and Marleau

Ottawa loses a huge chunk of overpaid salary, something killing their team and D. LA gets two mid-caliber people, and San Jose still gets a great deal with Heatley.

a whiny sniper is better than a ***** FORMER "captain" who WILL NOT win a cup so long as he is in a sharks uniform...seriously he should have been gone before wilson imo...and im a sharks fan....but way more of a wings fan.

All I see on TSN is a report stating that this is NOT happening and that the rumour is 100% false.
