GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 Wow, the Leafs really had to hold us off with the goalie pulled, huh? I can't wait for the real games to begin. I feel sorry for those idiot Leafs fans who may actually think their team is as good as their preseason record suggest.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 That sucked, but to be expected. Eaves did nothing tonight, hope that's not his physical game everyone talks about. Howard was good though.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I liked what I saw from Leino, Fil, Abdelkader, Williams, Howard, Kronwall, Stuart and Lebda. Actually the whole defense was fairly solid, but very few players managed to create any offense. Leino looked like Datsyuk there at times, deking in the corner. I feel sorry for those idiot Leafs fans who may actually think their team is as good as their preseason record suggest. From the sounds of the CBC commentators it would appear this does infact mean that "The Monster" will carry the leafs straight to the Stanley Cup this season now that they have beaten the Wings twice in a row. thedatsyukian 7 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I like how the announcers tried to downplay our lineup tonight. This is against the DETROIT RED WINGS, yes they're missing a few of their vets, but this is still the DETROIT RED WINGS.

I feel sorry for those idiot Leafs fans who may actually think their team is as good as their preseason record suggest. The fans on HFboards have been going nuts about how well their rookies are doing. In preseason games. It's incredibly annoying, honestly.

P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 The fans on HFboards have been going nuts about how well their rookies are doing. In preseason games. It's incredibly annoying, honestly. They haven't had much of a chance of going nuts in 42 years, so lets just let them be.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) Cos Orr would kick May's ass. What does that matter? That's May's job, especially when he's trying to earn his job. Besides, Orr is overrated. Look at his win/loss record. Edited September 27, 2009 by GMRwings1983
Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 They haven't had much of a chance of going nuts in 42 years, so lets just let them be. I think I heard the same thing last year when the Leafs dominated Detroit in their home opener.
Herr Hockey 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 I have to admit, Williams looked nothing like the Williams of 2006 on the point. His shot was a rocket tonight.

Yak19 303 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 Hard to not like Gustavsson, Leafs are definitely going to the playoffs this year, maybe we can get the rivalry back but i doubt it as we are in different conferences.
