Babcock: "Filppula's line is our best."

Finnish article

- Filppula's line is our best. Valtteri plays solid two-way game, and I don't have anything bad to say about the others either. I just wouldn't want to say this again and again after every game throughout the entire season.

Yeah, no kidding. Hank and Pavel need to get on their horses and get moving. I know Hank had the injury in preseason but he's got six games under his belt now, and Pavel has always been a bit of a slow starter but there's no time like the present. If those two guys plus Nick aren't getting the job done, and that's the case right now, then there's reason to worry, because as good as Leino-Flip-Dano have been they certainly can't carry the scoring for the whole team.

I can't imagine the big three staying cold for much longer, the Wings need them producing.

Hahaha. I suppose that's true to an extent, but I'm not entirely convinced they're a pushover this season. The Kings have some amazing young talent on the back end, and Anze Kopitar is playing out of his mind right now. If the Kings could ever get steady goaltending for an entire season, they'd have no trouble finding their way into the playoffs.

Agreed. If they just get average but consistent goaltending, they're very capable of making the playoffs. Smyth should add the goals they were missing last season, and though they lost Quincey, they have Jack Johnson back and Doughty is only going to get better. Their defense is crazy young (minus Odonnel), but talented.

LOL - wonder if all the Meech lovers still think he's better than Lebda...That big kid Myers flew by Meech as though he were standing still; bet Babcock sits Meech Thursday night.

Are there really Meech lovers?

I think it's more of a case of pick your poison. Or maybe grass is always greener?

Lebda is probably better overall, but not by nearly as much as he should be considering this is his 5th season in the NHL.

why would Babcock scratch Draper and Maltby? Draper has been good and malby hasn't done anything to get scratched. Sorry but abdelkader, helm and (expecially) eaves can just be thrown in there and expect to perform. As much as people like to rag on Draper and Maltby, I don't think this team is as good without them, expecially during the regular season.

They are still in playoff mode from last season.... all i can say is are they injured and gassed this time around too? That was the excuse they all used in the finals
