Hey, wait.... Where'd my Wings go?

Most of the people you bolded were the one's that played well. Besides the defense.

What would you like them to do, start crying? Flailing on the ice?

I would like for them to take some responsibility and act as if they know they need to play better -- not that it would take much effort to do that at the moment.

I seem to see a "reaction" of, oh, well... *shrug* whatever... from the Wings. No self-analysis, no one is calling anyone out, no one is stepping up and saying -- I can be better and everyone else needs to work as hard as I do, or else! No challenge, no work ethic, no role model for determination.

Average, get by, on to the next game if this one sucks. Is that OK with you, Wings?

Really?

Meh. Just forget this game ever happened. They showed against a better offensive team on saturday that they still know how to play defense. Ozzie has actually looked good 3 games in a row, but tonight he was unlucky and hung out to dry.

I'm not worried about this team. However I would really like to see Hank and Pav get a goal or two sometime soon. I don't think either of them is playing bad, but they need to lead this team and right now they just aren't.

Leino, the 800k guy, looked bad while Dats, the 6,7M guy, looked good?

Wings needed this loss, the boys need an embarrassment like this. They've been lazy and need a shake up. I think this loss is just what the doctor ordered.

The entire team was lazy except for Helm.

Lids, Ralfi, Zetter, and Dats were all invisible. Ericsson was brutal. all in all, wings need to pull it together.

I'm not worried, Wings are the best team in the league, undoubtedly with the best management and a top-notch coach in Babcock. They'll get it together.

What makes you think they don't know they aren't playing well? A simple glance at the scoreboard would probably clue them in. Also, do we really want players calling each other out? How is that going to help? I'm aware they are different sports, but it doesn't help in baseball so I doubt it would help for a hockey team to do the same. All it does is help breed a culture within the locker room that can only blow up in their faces as the season goes on.

Jimminy Christmas on a cracker, that was horrid. Honestly, I need to find a Man in Black so he can zap me with that little light doohickey so I can forget about that excretion I just witnessed via the Internet. I'm certainly hoping that the team shows up for my first ever games at the Joe on Thursday and Saturday. It would suck the suck out of "suck" to watch them lose in person.

I can't recall the last time I saw such abysmal passing, shooting, effort, etc... from this team. I can't blame it on who was in vs. who was out of the game, since everyone played like donkey dung. Thus far the three losses this season have all been epic failures. I don't know if it's better that the Wings never had a lead tonight and therefor couldn't piss it away like in the Sweden games or not. Either way, I don't like watching them lose... but I HATE watching them not even seen to try. The Sabres are not THAT good. The Wings were THAT bad. Kudos to Buffalo for playing like the I wish the Wings would. Keep that pedal on the gas and step on the necks of your opponent.

Buffalo is still my favorite Eastern Conference team, but no one will ever replace the Wings in my heart.

LETS GO RED WINGS! See you in Detroit on Thursday!

Regs,

Jeff in Houston

I want to see some accountability. From anyone. Anyone??

They should not just let this one slide and move on, forget about it. I think an atmosphere of apathy and not taking responsibility for lack of effort and team cohesion/chemistry early on will blow up in their faces, just as surely as a culture of work ethic and determination would be helpful. I've watched one too many seasons of the Dallas Stars doing just exactly what I watched tonight to not know the outcome of this season, if things don't change.

I don't see any passion at all. Ho hum....

Didn't Columbus or Niyashville score 8 on us last year in Oct or Nov?

Its a long season. The chemistry is still loose, the timing is not going to be consistant, trial and error, blah blah blah.

Buffalo is stocked with millionare professional hockey players too. Yeah it kinda sucks, but unless it happens the next 5 ot of 8 games or somehing, I'm not too upset.

...and you wont for a while. Playoff hangover has got them and its not letting go. There isn't a game big enough to get emotionally invested in for them I believe.

Meech and McCrimmon for $1 please?

how about one of those famous "$1 detroit homes"...?

i'll warn you though...when you see the place, the feeling you get will be eerily similar to the feeling you had watching the game tonight...

betcha there won't be enough floss in the babcock house tonight, for all the ass-tissue'll be stuck in those choppers...

We didn't show up and the Sabres thought this would be a game to challenge themselves and see where they stand, im embarrassed the Wings couldn't even do that. There was no effort at all tonight, 82 games in a season there will be nights off. Im glad we took the night off against a team i don't hate.

Happens to every team we will bounce back, lines are still shuffling.

GO WINGS!!
